Not sports, but this has been an amazing investment hack

Just listen to any of Trump speeches and buy the companies he talks about, then dump them about 10 minutes later

Usually it's just a quick 1-2% profit, but today I bought SRNE and in 10 minutes it was up 171.95% lol. Is this steam chasing? Are we bottom feeders?

I would imagine it was the interview the CEO gave on Fox shortly before that time.

“We want to emphasize there is a cure. There is a solution that works 100 percent," CEO Henry Ji told Fox News. The stock had more than doubled by midday as daytraders cheered the apparent end to society’s troubles...

There is not yet any evidence that the treatment candidate is safe or effective in human beings.

As for the full results themselves, Sorrento said in a news release that the full details “will be submitted to a peer-reviewed publication shortly.” ~wsj.com

I go the same thing about two weeks ago with APDN

Doubled in price, dumped it, and then it went back over a week

Then Thursday did it again, APDN, doubles, dump, down.

It can't be this easy or is that all day traders do. Wait for Trump or someone to say something or they say something vague like we may have a cure, jump on, and get off before it crashes

Got rid of SRNE but MRNA was up 33% at opening. Bought that Friday at noon and want to hold for a while because the guy who is overseeing Operation Warp Drive is on their board.

Easy corruption angle. Give contracts to people he's friends with. And Moderna set the stage this morning for those contracts by reporting "positive data" on an early vaccine to justify why they're getting the contract.

Got some of GSK too (his old company) also but that hasn't done much.Up ~1.5%

Yeah, Moderna's been in the lead in the vaccine race since they started in January. Doesn't mean they'll win of course. I've been on some conf calls with their CEO.

Interesting conversation with bookmakers heads linesmaker

https://www.vsin.com/videos/a-numbers-game/

they're doing the volume in table tennis similar to a MLB day (700 games of TT/day tho)

a sim game generates around 150k in action and their daily sims get more volume than nhl

all the sim games are run by a third party and not them

1-2% of their clients are winners, 85% losers, rest break even or win/lose a little.

BM is covering their costs but not making profit the last couple of months

no questions about why they cut their payouts so much.

Thanks for sharing. Always interesting to hear the perspective of the other side.

Hopefully the payout cuts are temporary. Not sweating yet but I guess I also don’t understand why they aren’t just copying the Betonline family and a few others with the bonuses for people who don’t do withdrawals until 1 of the big 4 leagues starts up.

Long RCKT, PTCT, ABBV, IMVT. Doing pretty well, doubled my money in that last one. Rocket more than doubled.

Heads up, fonbet simulations are dead.

Friday night they ran a basketball game, PHI vs. LAL. LAL was up 70-0 because someone was manually controlling the PHI team and every possession the shot clock would expire. Guess they fell asleep. My theory is they would hop in occasionally and manually play the game but messed up and did it for a game, walked away, and ruined their entire scam.

After that happened they took all their twitch channels offline and deleted the video archive for every sim channel they had. Haven't had a game since.

I guess that confirms our rigged suspicions. Gonna miss the free $$

crowdsource syndicate ride or die, never tout life

i thought the 700 table tennis matches a day was an exaggeration so I added the sport to my database. In the first 24 hours, 536 unique matches involving 258 different players across 9 leagues/tournaments. We need to get involved.

Looking at the Nasdaq insider page shows those as automatic 10[b]5-1 sales. If price hits $x then sell Y shares. Could have been set up last year.

the only thing that matters for that stock is if they get a workable vaccine quickly. They certainly might fail.

Here's my plan right now - I've looked at the last 2 years of international events and calculated the % difference in the numbers between teams' performance at these events and their domestic leagues. For this upcoming tournament I'll just adjust each teams current domestic #s by that % difference and model/project off those numbers.

There's obviously some problems with this, sample size is small and generally you'd think each leagues best team will do better than their adjustment and their worse teams will underperform it - but the sample size is small already and I can't really get any meaningful data by making it more granular.

R8/h8/deb8 this approach

An idea. Maybe for each league, look at how much money the average team spends on its players. Compute that number for every league. Then for all interleague games, compute the difference in money spent on the average team. Use that difference in $ to train a logistic regression and now you can compute the win rate between teams in two different leagues.
