What's the deal here? I just started reading 2+2 again and the boxing thread is dead while the mma thread is going wild!? Haha. Anyway I don't do much betting but I do watch a lot of boxing, old and new stuff. I did place my first sports bet though recently. Bet the bankroll on Ortiz vs Jennings, win only. I had Ortiz as a 95% favorite, with Jennings only hope being the ref and judges. The betting line ended up being -150 to -130 for Ortiz, and +150ish for a KO. But I decided to bet on the sure thing and just do the W. Anyways 2016 should be crazy for boxing, with the MW division shaping up. Happy new year all.

Thoughts on the fight card at the DLVEC this Saturday night?

Josh Torres looks to be decent in the short video I managed to find online at YouTube, but I have to think if Zab Judah is at all serious he should at least earn a decision.

I saw Judah in attendance at a fight night in Baltimore back in November, and he looked to be in absolutely fine shape. Lean. But he has not fought in two years and did not look good against Malignaggi at that point. Hesitant to lay odds on that, but I can't see much value in Torres.

Hmmm. A bit of late money on Bradley to beat Pacquiao again but it's not particularly convincing.



Have absolutely no interest on a betting perspective. Might watch if it was free-to-air but I wouldn't pay for it. It'll probably go to a dull points decision.

A demolition job on Charles Martin by Anthony Joshua justifying fairly heavy odds-on quotes. Heavyweight boxing hasn't been this exciting in the last ten years from a British perspective.

Made good money this weekend with the Martin/Joshua under 5½ prop near evens and Many Pacquiao's ML at -175 & 12 round decision line at +108. Lotta good boxing coming up this spring and summer between HBO, Showtime, the PBC, the popular UK cards and other promotions. I agree that heavyweight is the most interesting it has been in years.

We watched the Errol Spence vs Algeri fight after the UFC Fox was finished on Saturday evening, they had posted +333 that Spence KOs him via Rounds 4,5 or 6. Alergi was wobbling as **** in the 4th round put 2u on it. Nice additional profit to the evening

Live bet during the fight? You play at Bet365 maybe? You must have more options than us in the States for sure. There's just about zero options to get live in-play odds on boxing here unless it's a gigantic fight like Mayweather-Pacman.

It seems like GGG has been trying to make his fights last a while to not only please fans but also to keep from looking too terrifying to top level opponents suitable for big money fights. So I think he won't stop Wade too quickly even though Wade really has nothing for him.

Talked myself into this and just locked in my bets. Only way I can lose money if is GGG stops Wade in round 1-3, early in round 7 or Wade miraculously gets a stoppage himself before the middle of the 7th round. In the first and third scenarios I lose all $200 even; in the middle scenario I lose only $53.75. On the positive, If GGG stops Wade in round 4-6 I make just $4.75. If he stops Wade late in the 7th I make $246.25; in the eighth $158.75; in the 9th $167.50. If the fight ends in any later round or goes to decision either way I make $100.00.

Weird couple of fights with the king of dragging a fight out, Floyd Mayweather at ringside.

Who wins if it's DeGale vs. Jack!? Only the interested parties. No real desire to see Bute vs. Jack II although some might vehemently disagree.

The PBC on Fox card was great, lots of KOs. I liked the outdoor venue too. Williams Jr. cashing at +260 with that crazy KO over Rodriguez, plus Berto knocking out Ortiz made my night.

I was really surprised Bute got a draw against Jack on Showtime, although it was nice to get a push and my money back. I thought Medina looked great against DeGale and could have earned the victory if boxing wasn't such a crooked sport. Between all my bets this weekend, I end up with a small profit of .44u.

The action starts tonight, Friday evening, on a Golden Boy Productions card streaming live on Estrella TV where I'm just entertaining myself with a small play on an early line on underdog Marvin Quintero that has since much improved; then a decent UK card live on Sky Sports & AWE in the U.S. Saturday afternoon featuring a WBA lightweight championship fight where I'm taking the hard hitting Brazilian KO artist Ismael Barroso as a slight dog against the British champion Anthony Crolla; then a heavyweight fight from Germany that had an aggressive face-off at the weigh-in where I'm taking the Bulgarian brawler Kubrat Pulev as a clear favorite over Dereck Chisora, hopefully to get a stoppage; followed by the big Canelo/Khan PPV card from Las Vegas Saturday evening where I'm backing Canelo Alvarez. I don't disagree Alvarez is the fav but its not as bad for Amir as 4/1 indicates,
