I focus on capping in MLB cause its the one sport that I feel like I can beat straight up. There ARE key #'s in MLB Totals though... I try to avoid 8.5 and 6.5 on totals.. but the books know that 9 & 7 are key #'s so they hang alot of 6.5 & 8.5s.... If I like the game at 8.5.. I'll still do it, but try to avoid it.

In CBB... chasing steam is just as important to capping. Totals can close 10-15 points off the opening lines.... Way more important to bet early.

Ian Eagle said in the NY Daily News that they apparently were joking around the whole time. Didn't feel very joke-ish to me but I don't exactly spend much time watching Nets broadcasts so maybe missed some context. If so, then same for a lot of other people too.

I can't imagine saying something like that on the air either jokingly or seriously. And I know EVERYTHING about sports broadcasting!!

Anyway, Brian is the one who is all, "I know what I'm talking about. I've been around this for a long time" so I think that more closely related to Ian, right?

Re: April - June LC Thread: Good old country hardball

Dodger - felt that way to me too.

I mean, surely there's SOMEBODY out there who occasionally watches the Nets who could say whether that type of thing is semi-regular. But Ian really, truly sounded like he was lecturing Fratello on the air about the lecturing tone or whatever it was.

Even as a joke it seemed way way inappropriate and out of place. But hey, Ian's been doing this for 18 years (so I hear).

If I remember correctly, I don't think Bob really wants to be a moderator anyway. Bob can go back to his role of casual posting, and we can have somebody in charge who knows what they're doing. It would be best for everyone involved.

Re: April - June LC Thread: Good old country hardball

Micro,

When you're sarcastic or a troll its just another guy on the internet being sarcstic and trolly and not contributing at all. When other posters here are sarcastic and troll its at times an acomplished sports bettor and often they are doing more than just troll.

closing the only good thread going in sb was total fail. rememeber when you got here the only thing everyone told you was never close threads, let them run their course and fall off the front page naturally.

Poogs,

lol you are posting exactly waht I posted 6 months ago -the harley brag. the clique situation here is very weird basically backwards highschool. tho i bet if you stopped buying harleys and trucks Iowa! would stop calling you hood rich.

B00t,

Looks like we might have to cancel our SCRMT (stanley cup rematch trip)instead meet me in LV, I shall be at the rhino, engagin in discussions about regression.

Iowa!

for a desperado you seem to care alot. less emo more desperado.

Wow things going off here due to Iowa

Fwiw I'm a semi knowledgable reader in this forum, and I took Iowas picks as potentially plus EV plays but he wasn't too sure about his model, the silly write ups were to be funny
