oh, i just assumed if you're say, netherlands you'd have no chance against say, germany. german song would easily win.

but within the game, each singer/country has a rival?

hmmph

I think it is clear from some of the finalists that many of the countries are extremely sophisticated in their voting and are conspiring to advance the most ludicrous competition thus giving their own country a greater chance of victory. But the whole thing has gone too far and the strategy caught on with too many countries so that not a single legitimate or deserving artist is able to make the finals.

But the understanding is there. Everybody goes into it already knowing that the top bands in the world would get crushed by the old Russian ladies 97% - 3%. It's all part of the game.

At 50-1, it was like the God of Dejens was calling to me from on high to bet on them. I mean, figured a lot of people would vote for them as a joke, right?

They were absolutely hilarious and I didn't even check to see if I'd won for a couple days because I figured....no shot, obvs. Thought it was a mis-grade when I saw I won.

I don't know what wacky drugs they're taking over in Europe that makes those cats sincerely believe that Electro-GWAR is really good...but I either want a LOT or I want to stay as far away as possible. Haven't decided which. Working on it.

Not sure if trolling or if you just never heard of GWAR.

The third video with the band in the stupid makeup and costumes is reminiscent of a heavy metal band called GWAR. I called the Finland version Electro-GWAR because they play keyboards and are kind of more techno influenced than the original GWAR.

gwar is some crazy euro thrash head banger group, right?

what is "electro-gwar"? oh wait you answered it.

nevermind i didn't really care to begin with, i 'know' who 'gwar' is, never really listened to one of their songs, i just thought 'electro gwar' was weird sounding, like quiet riot or organized confusion..

What would be the series price for a potential Miami vs Spurs final?
April - June LC Thread: Good old country hardball Quote

The series price would be the odds of each team winning the Finals, with the bookie's vig added on. Usually more vig is added to the favorite.

Last I saw 5dimes had a potential Spurs v Heat matchup at Spurs -130/Heat +100. You can use some conditional probabilities with NBA championship futures and find a roughly similar price.

Read this, and then figure out the permutations for a 7 game series, solve and you will have your answer

Yeah thanks, but I am interested in the moneyline for each potential game. Are the Heat a bigger home favorite in game 3 than the Spurs in Game 1?
April - June LC Thread: Good old country hardball Quote

Well it looks like the market has kind of deemed the Spurs the best team remaining so I doubt that Miami will get a larger game 3 home spread than the Spurs, unless of course Miami shows everybody reasons otherwise in the 2 games prior.

Rage that I bet on the Spurs last season to ship their 5th, one year too early, when it looks like this is the likely year

i see people say that bookmaker is sharp and they are a good guide for calculating the true line, but i usually just use pinny cause i figure any serious bettor has access there and pinny has less vig. assuming an event between two teams you've never heard of, and you see:

scenario A:
Pinny: team 1: -113 team 2: 102
BM: team 1: -110 team 2: -110

here bookmaker is dealing a 20 cent line as opposed to pinny's 11 cent line, but if you wanted to bet team 1, you would bet them at bm. the fact that that -110 is available, would you calculate the fair line using -110 for team 1 and 102 for team 2? or would you stick with pinny's -113? and why?

now scenario b:
pinny dealing team 1: -101 team 2: -109
bm dealing team 1: -110 team 2: -110

is there any reason to take bm's line into consideration at all, given that anyone serious would be betting this at pinny?

I'm looking to get some money onto pinny within the next hour or so, and the only way I think I can manage it is via a transfer. Can anyone help me out? I can send on Stars (or back on pinny within a day or so). Am looking for $500.

Ok it looks like account-to-account transfers aren't possible, but I got someone to place the bet for me anyway.

Phil Steele listed UNC as his #13 preseason team. Seems pretty lol high but hopefully an actual quality coaching staff can prove me wrong. I personally didn't expect to see them in anybody's preseason top 40.

Anybody else befuddled at their team's ranking yet?

i don't mean to step on toes, but have any of you heard from p00gs?

he hasn't been around in a while, and his and chronic's bet has been done for almost 2 weeks now, and chronic posted his money, p00gs didn't.

i think chronic is starting to worry...

Weren't they both going to escrow? Did that fall through due to 2+2 falling apart?

Probably should not have started the bet until both participants had paid their $$. But nobody foresaw the odd situation of 2+2 being down for several weeks and therefore many people being out of touch with each other.

poogs never escrowed, and i guess chronic said the emails back and forth towafds the end of the bet made him think poogs wanted to back out.

or something like that. i probably shouldn't be the one telling the story.
