how about microbob bans that spammer gunner (who i believe is on his 4th or 5th account) and then you post in the soccer thread, just like the 1 or 2 other people who post their (non-******ed prices) soccer picks

Listen to yourself.

If starting your own thread is what is required for that then you should just give up completely on this.

Holiday - Nobody has told me anything about that. Guess I'll check it out and try to determine what you are referring to. But if you would be cool with posting or PM'ing me details of what the heck you are talking about that would be dandy.

but if i wish to track
- w%
- average odds
- w/l/v
- average beating the closing line
- roi
- z-score
- mean absolute error, vs pinnacle

+ all my plays would be hard to navigate in the general soccer thread

MicroBob you are a clown imo. I send you multiple pm's about multiaccounting in the soccer thread. You stated after my first pm that you didn't care about the soccer thread but if I would write a detailed pm you would check it out. I sent you the pm and you never responded. You can do what you want but don't act like you are hearing this for the first time.

[X] In before "you are acting crazy"/patronizing reply.

learn to use excel?

needing a thread to do this is ridiculous.

i came to the conclusion, that i might need a valid archive of my bets when im looking for serious backing at the end of the year.
i might get close to a sample size of 1k.
only giving away ricebowls here.

Hey tukkk or "Jim", did you and "Tom" not manage to work this out? Your system of turning a dollar into 9 dollars with practically no risk of ruin was not appealing enough? Or do you think some random backer will give you a better deal?
Or did you manage to bleed "Tom" dry already and looking for more victims?

that was a hypothetical small-stakes scenario, what i am aiming for is a 6-fig backing and with that kind of roll the numbers dont run even close to that scenario
however im good at getting a solid z-score anyway
April - June LC Thread: Good old country hardball Quote

There was never a "Tom"?
And wow 6-fig backing! Must suck to sit on a goldmine but not have any money to execute your plans. You sit there seeing your hypothetical profit skyrocket and z-score going through the roof and you can't do anything about it.
Good luck finding that angel investor making you richer than Zuckerberg.

Hi victor, do you have any suggestions for the thread?

Tukkk, it is either about discipline OR wanting to document for backing, etc. Keep an excel. Document in the thread dedicated to the sport. Why is that so hard? Why should anyone here want you to be backed?

go for it, especially if you are willing to field general questions on your picks/methodology. if it's just random picks, you can keep it in the soccer thread i guess.

also consider that bob is in a weak position right now after several embarrassing posts. it's a good time to go ahead and create your own thread and then dare bob to lock it. he'll be too afraid of an forum riot and will allow it.

Do others agree with Tom here? If OP actually provides some content instead of just posting picks for his own log-keeping then would you like him to have his own thread for this?
April - June LC Thread: Good old country hardball Quote

what do you mean by content?
i created my algorithms from march-december last year
then proceeded to create a scraper+analysis tools and started live-tracking
now after 157 days and 6700 games with very specific stats in my database, i feel that the next step would be to create a valid public archive
---
what i can provide is different kinds of stats, it is pretty informing and gives a general sense, what kind of stats are needed to be profitable. for example the closing line efficiency myth and mean/median absolute error are pretty important
---
i do not write any toutish write-ups, because the rational decision-making is made by a program if thats what you mean
---
i want to just create an archive that might make a big difference in my future adventures, if everything continues to work, then you can obviously tail and be happy?

a+++++

i really don't think there are that many posts in the soccer thread are there? only like 5 people post regularly in there, and one of them is a spammer who bob will hopefully be banning soon

thevig was up like 40u at one point in the soccer thread and people took notice...i don't think it's a hindrance

I still generally agree with holiday. Do we want a public archive? If that is so important to you then just post in the stupid soccer thread already. Tukkk keeps saying that he just can't do that for some reason. None of his explanations make any sense to me. And adding in things about needing the discipline and trying to get a high stakes backer makes the case worse, not better, imo.

It was a mistake to ask for permission. Just make the thread already tukkk. Bob won't lock it he is too afraid right now of causing a revolt among the peasants.

how can anyone really value microbob's opinion after he has shown time and again how stupid he is when it comes to sportsbetting

there should be a sticky at the top pointing out not to listen to him. it is very reckless because people might assume it means more since he is the mod
April - June LC Thread: Good old country hardball Quote
05-21-2012 , 02:06 PM
Tom, that is not correct at all. He was correct to ask for permission. When he pm'ed me about it I turned it down but suggested he could get more input about it in this thread if he was dead set about it. I am not afraid of locking it. If he makes the thread now I will likely lock it.

I appreciate him wanting to clear this first and attempting to play by the rules and seeking clarification etc. But nothing he has said has convinced me that he can't do this in the soccer thread. I don't understand why a separate thread is so important to him at all. Geez, even in the soccer thread he can successfully go on a hot run and go tout.

If he wants the discipline, post in the thread.
If he wants to impress people to solicit high stakes backers, post in the thread.
If he wants to give free rice bowls from his awesome methodology, post in the thread.
If he wants to keep his picks organized, get an excel sheet.

If it is so important to him to have his own thing, get a blog, or a twitter account, or post in the thread.

That's my thought on it anyway. But if anyone had more compelling reasons why he should have a thread other than, "Bob is a weakling so do what you want" then go ahead and say so.
April - June LC Thread: Good old country hardball Quote

Rsig, if you want tukk to be allowed to have his own thread then please say so. And maybe why as well.

If my opinion is wrong on this then that is fine by me. Go ahead and tell me that it is. I leave this situation up to the opinion of you guys and you don't have to value my opinion on it at all.
