I don't know what you mean by that. PredictIt is run by a group at the University of Wellington, and has a letter from the US CFTC allowing it to do what it does. 180 degrees different from a site run by some random dudes in Costa Rica or Laos.

I wish it had higher limits, but it's still a decent option.

So you, a non-sports bettor, chastise actual sports bettors for not exclusively betting at your $800 max, high withdrawal fee shop that doesn't even offer sports.

That letter from the CFTC sure is great with those limits and fees. You're right; the regulated onshore experience is vastly different from an offshore site. The best offshore sites are a substantially better experience.

I haven't bet seriously on sports since 2012. If I recall correctly, back in the day, 5dimes had a solid reputation. Hadn't realized things had gone downhill since then.

Even so, until now, I've done OK in not getting screwed out of money. This is maybe the second time out of dozens of offshore betting sites I have been screwed over (Full Tilt being the other).

$10k via BTC Requested last Wednesday morning.

Received last night. So roughly 6 1/2 days.

Did you call to pre verify or wait for them to call you?

I always considered betting on politics as a form of sports betting.
Some people just specialize in one thing. If they are successful at it, why not?

Waited. I was trying to be patient, but I was also pretty busy the last few days. If it hit 7-8 days, I probably would have reached out.

I mean, I used to be a sports bettor. I was arbing games 15 years ago. Then BetCascade happened. It had been rated A by SBR. Then there started to be reports that they were slow to pay withdrawals. Out of an abundance of caution, I took my money out of there. I pretty much got on the last helicopter out of Saigon, because just about immediately after I got paid, they stopped paying anyone. Kept accepting deposits and bets, but they turned 100% black hole scam.

I fully realized that I'd gotten lucky to get my money back. If I'd lost it, I would have lost more than I made arbing that year.

So yeah, I'm not so much chastising sports bettors as warning them that these books can and will take your money and you'll have absolutely no recourse. Like, try to be +EV when you include in your calculations that there's a 5% chance the book will eventually just take your money.

Thanks, though I'm not seeing the best feedback for that Fairlay site. Is there a sports betting platform that allows USA customers to access the Bet365 and William Hill UK books without having to purchase VPN? Looking to bet boxing at those books...

Both places will try to steal from you under the most legitimate of circumstances so doubt you want to go there with them. Just move to a state where they do business and move back in a week after they kick you out.

Bet365 is the best. I got banned there before I even placed a bet.

Tried to bet something that wasn't even off. Was maybe 20 cents on the ML. Hold please. Comes back we don't want your action.

Anyone who talks **** about options for ppl in the US but ignores Fairlay is kinda a joke. Has pinny odds and SUPER high limits, like you can get 50k down on an NFL spread right now easily there. And 5k down on props and stuff.

Btw, if you actually hit Fairlay for the limit a few times, the corresponding line will move (and move on Pinnacle too) so whoever is seeding there is either affiliated with them, or has a bot to layoff there.

and you get to gamble in BTC so you can lose 20% or gain 20% on your payout based on whether someone is manipulating the market!

i think they're just hooked into the pinnacle and other APIs. take the bet, send it to pinny, and take a cut for themselves.

Bitcoin thread is over in BFI but that's another story. If you bet sports online tho in 2020 and can't find a use for it that may be an issue. Prob better ROI over next 30 yrs than water rights too

Fairlay is great in that regard but their interface is awful. Line moves on Pinnacle, doesn't update on Fairlay most of the time. Enter the price on Pinnacle and what you think the limit should be manually and it works about 50% of the time. Say you have a market with no alt lines (example: some random lower tier rugby match) and Pinnacle moves the line. It takes 5+ minutes, sometimes more, for Fairlay to even post the new market.

At least they don't short you on payouts in BTC like certain offshore books do, who then blame "price fluctuations".

Yes. <96 hours. They send you an email asking for some info, you only have 24 hours to respond. If you miss the email, you have to reapply for a CO.

Took them a week to get to the point of "accepting" my withdrawal. Had to call over some confirmation thing, and then must have broke lucky because it cleared in about 1 day after that.

for people who are trying to go to betanysports

i never knew they existed. opened an account when all this went down. banned from 5d but they said they're a different company.

was limited to nothing on 9/9. said they didn't want action.

requested withdraw

nothing yet

but they knew my old address from my 5d account

i never gave them that address since that was ~15 years ago.

pretty sure it's the same company even tho they say they're not

Yes BAS and 5d are the same company or at least very closely associated in some way. They knew of my 5d account as well and specifically asked how long I had it open.
