9 ppl for 565$. Hoping to get that to over 15 this year. The more ppl the higher the prize pool. Last year was most of my friends doing it so slightly low stakes. DJ went for $57 and he was the most.

Hey bowlman, I'll be there.

I missed the Masters last year, but did the British Open, and remember the software sucking and everything happening way too fast. Can you explain how the process works? Was there a countdown clock or something?

You need to be in the auction room at the beginning of the auction(9:15pm CST). There is only a 12 sec clock on each player, if you want that player you need to jump on em before the clock goes down. Ideally its best to be on a desktop. Mobile is possible if you cant be at a desktop.

Wow. Is that a setting you can change to add more than 12 seconds?

I can change it to a longer time however we are auctioning off all 87 players. This will take some time(close to 90 mins). This is why we cut this timer down slightly from our NCAA calcutta.

How much time were you looking of? Willing to adjust it slightly

Thanks for running it bowlman.

My two cents (and I realize you didn't write the software) is that 12 seconds is fine while you are bidding on a player, but there needs to be a 30-60 second pause between each player, or a 1 minute timeout after every 5 players so you can catch your breath and soak in what has happened.

The interesting part of a Calcutta is guessing how big the pool is going to get, and it's really hard in that fast of a format.

Also the $1 increments got annoying. It would be nice to have $1 increments up to $15, then it goes to $5 increments after that.

There's definitely a benefit to having it be fast, but if growing the pot is a goal, I would try to make it a 2-3 hour experience, where people talk trash in the chat room, etc.
