Ladies and gentleman, that time of the year is almost upon us. Republican debates start next month and I am looking forward to seeing all my friends again. It almost feels like school is back in session.

Some interesting candidates this year and wondering if Domahhhh is going to risk his entire net worth on a coinflip of a single election (getting -180 of course).

We didn't think it could get any worse but here we are. I wish the BOL to all competitors in this arena.

It's probably too early for this. I do expect this thread to blow up around the primaries though. Looking forward to this one, I made so much money on the 2020 bets simply by betting that Biden or the Democrats would win certain states AFTER they election ended.

First Republican debate next month. We'll be continuing to pick up steam for a while.

I think there's a huge leak in politics in that there aren't way more charismatic "puppet" candidates. To illustrate: I think Vivek has basically no chance because he's an Indian manlet. And the majority of voters are so superficial that there's no getting past that. If voters blindly selected a candidate based only off policies or responses to prompts, maybe he would win; instead they look at him and don't find him appealing. Same with Christie—do you want a human beanbag as your country's leader? It's cruel and highlights a key shortcoming of democracy, but it's true. So why don't we see more attractive, charismatic candidates who go through intensive training that instills the puppet masters' policies and coaches them on how to respond in debates and interviews? If Vivek really wanted his policies in place, he would get a George Clooney avatar of himself to run. I don't know if it's vanity or delusion or incompetence or what that explains why we see so many DOA candidates and so few love-at-first-sight ones, but I think it's a big leak for those actually seeking power.

It's just that most people are NPCs and don't have much time to think about politics. Vivek is pretty alpha though, I am not sure it's going to be the problem you think it is. Though Trump will likely win the nom.

I would not rule out Ramaswamy getting the nom. His platform is so simple/honest but so far out there it would be a big upset, but the other candidates have close to zero chance in the general and voters hate voting for a loser.

The one thing, and I'd hate to see it, that can stop Trump is these insane indictments or misuse of the 14th amendment.

Republicans clearly have a big weakness on the abortion issue. However, if the GOP nominates a candidate who is more neutral on abortion at least on the national level, then I think Democrats are in trouble.
