anyone else concerned about the post office and trump's pathetic political appointment?

i'm sure the PO is ripe for consolidation/restructuring....but major overall just months before major mail-in election is very bad.

i have zero doubt that if everyone's votes count, trump gets destroyed.

and of course, trump/wife, pence/wife, ivanka/jared, idiot pr spokeswoman/husband have all mailed in election ballots in the recent past.

Who wouldn't be concerned? It's an open attempt to rig the election. There's no shame in this administration.
Government has been trying to change the postal service for about the last 50 years . To make it more cost effective. But what's happening now has very little to do with that. Removing mail boxes? Need I say more.
Anyways. It seems enough resistance has formed to slow them down.
Republicans and independents use mail in voting too. So we don't really know what impact this will have.
If you're going to vote by mail, send in your ballot as soon as possible.

Nobody said voter fraud doesn't exist.
All these cases I highlighted are proof that the system works.
These people have been caught. As the government in charge, Trump and his administration should have been doing everything possible to ensure a secure election. And once again, just like with Covid19, he's a failure. What's his answer? Denying people the right to vote. Which amounts to voter suppression.

In other news, the Trump campaign , according to my guy "let's talk elections"c is concentrating heavily on AZ, WI, Georgia and NC and Florida. Skipping Pennsylvania. For now at least. Although it doesn't make much sense to me.
Trump is down only by 6 points in some polls. Not too far out of the margin of error.
Elections are too expensive. And that's a non partisan statement. When the incumbent doesn't have enough money to advertise everywhere?
Part of the problem I think is that American elections are far too long.

I can't see either convention mattering much, I do hope the DNC doesn't take the Bernie/AOC wing for granted though, if they **** on them too hard it could damage turnout, Biden needs to portray the moderate while also signalling to the base he'll at least get some of their less scary priorities done

I listened to some of Bernie's speech, he was fine couldn't be bothered with most of the conventions etc

To be honest I think the biggest sweat at the moment is the post office stuff. Trump's best path to victory is low turnout/suppressing the Dem vote hard. Dems need to drown him in a sea of turnout and not let him **** with the post office's ability to mess with absentee ballots uncontested, put the pressure on Roberts early and make it clear the supreme court's legitimacy is on the line in case the election ends up in the hands of the supreme court etc in a spot where Biden clearly won but Dem leaning absentee ballots were deliberately not processed etc

This could be an utter **** show if early returns show Trump leading, he declares victory and then the absentee ballots come in hard for Biden and he wins a clear but close victory and Trump claims rigged without any proof etc but sends it to the R leaning supreme court

On my way to work this morning on the radio. 7 high speed processing machines removed from Boston post offices. 3 from Worcester. Now that work has to be done by hand. If you want to cut costs, you'd think the way to go is more machines and less people, not the opposite. I think Lukashenko is in the oval office. Doesn't make any sense.

Thats not what happened its a formal process that the second highest delegate getter is nominated too, then endorses the actual nominee (Biden) etc

AOC was literally going through a procedural motion to nominate the candidate who got the second most delegates so he can concede and endorse the nominee

AOC and other progressives have watched the Tea Party and Freedom Caucus pull the GOP far to the right, and they're planning on doing the same thing. It's incredibly effective to knock out some 10-term comfortable congressmen in a primary. Everyone else in a safe blue seat is going to have to toe the line or they could be next.

That said, it's not going to save Trump. If anything, it's going to make things worse for him, because you have leftists inside the Democratic party pulling votes that would otherwise go to the Greens or just stay home.
