Re: 2020 US Presidential Election Betting Thread

Wow. This is the story of my life. No guts no glory. Of course I thought Harris has a good chance, otherwise I wouldn't have wrestled with Elves. But anyways. I think it's a good pick. 4 reasons and the first two are the obvious. She's black and a woman.
The other two are, because she's a tough cookie who knows how to fight back and has an extroverted personality, and, and this might be the genius part of this pick, the republicans can't accuse her of being soft on crime.
Did you ever even stop to consider that one Elves!
Lol, all the work he did trying to convince everyone she had zero chance. This is one reason I love the sports betting community. La familia.

Man, how does that feel? You spent over a hundred hours trying to figure this one out, and all you got out of it was losing every bet you made and making a fool of yourself.

np, enjoy Cody! You saw a couple weeks ago I had taken off all my risk on the VP markets, but it was your reminder that made me take another closer look.

Ooh, good one. If the line was 73.9, I'd take the over. Maybe 78%?

Anybody want to speculate on Pence? The line for him to get the VP nom again is 89% right now.

I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out in the 80-85 range honestly...

Let me stress I'm not I professional sports bettor and I'm not trying to ridicule Elves.
But he's one good example of the way a losing gambler's mind works and his thought processes.

Classic touting mistake. Never assigned something a zero percent probability. You lose out on future wiggle room. Just say Harris is overvalued for the reasons given and make a case for someone else.

For what it's worth I actually agreed with his thesis that Harris was a bad pick for VP (or at least not she's not Biden's best choice) and thought Elve's gripes against her were legitimate but how do you logically argue against Biden just saying C'MON MAN and picking her

Re: 2020 US Presidential Election Betting Thread

Tom you nailed it. Or may I be so bold as to say yeah, you just can't assign someone zero chance.
He did make some sense Tom,to but for many of the wrong reasons. As I tried to point out, he was looking at the process soly from his own psychological perspective. Through the lense of how he personally sees the world and totally disregarding what kind of a person Biden is and how Biden sees things.
Trump came out right away and asked how Biden could have picked her since she was so nasty to him.lol.
I have always loved the psychology aspect of things.

I now have two conspiracy theories for bonus material!
Elves is either really D. Trump or Ivr!

Re: 2020 US Presidential Election Betting Thread

I ended up making a ton of money today. When Rice went to over 70 percent I loaded up the truck on Harris because like I told you before, Trump went to 15 to 1 the day of the election. The public is always wrong on those big moves without news. So I made more than than most of you make in three months. The best part is that my analysis was one hundred percent correct. Biden is a born loser, and will now lose for a third time. He picked the one person on earth that would make Trump a favorite.

I've decided to take a nice well deserved vacation with my winnings. I will not be posting anymore. You should have listened and looked at the Big picture. Biden is a loser, and always has been. I made a lot of money today and I already bet some of my winnings on Trump. Lol. Harris went to over 3 to 1 and I loaded up the truck on her. Enjoy!

Re: 2020 US Presidential Election Betting Thread

The moron spewing holier-than-thou horseshit turned out to be wrong about everything! Cool, cool. Guessing his ratio of dollars bet to words posted was like 1:100, which is a shame. I had hoped he would've lost actual money on his bad takes.

I think Biden kinda flubbed the pick in that he went with a Hillary Clinton-esque safety valve that really brings him very little upside with any types of voters. I think Kamala is a try-hard phony, and while I think she is disciplined enough not to hurt him, she seems like an all around bad person to have as your #2 from a governing standpoint. Gonna be a fun dual primary in 2024 if Biden wins in 2020 and then steps down. I think Kamala is a terrible politician, and a charismatic challenger from her left that isn't toxic (i.e. not b Bernie) could give her a run for her money.

Elves, I thought for sure when it was Kamala that you'd slink off never to be seen again. But you really made my day by coming back and telling lies that wouldn't fool a toddler. It's just.. ::chef's kiss::

Great story on the Rachel Maddow show about Harris and how she was bad ass and got a lot more money for California. One other AG that she liked working worked closely with on that issue was Beau Biden of Delaware.
Sorry Domer, have to sort of disagree with you about her. Vp normaly doesn't have to do much. Thus doesn't really need to be a great politician. From the coverage on CNN and MSNBC, every black guest seems to be extremely excited. Biden hit a home run.

And I knew that idiot ( i was trying to be respectful but that's out the window now) was a Trumpster. His mentality and everything he says is typical Trump cult follower.

Re: 2020 US Presidential Election Betting Thread

My first thought was I'm here for the elves meltdown and was not disappointed by the well actually I ended up making money on Harris post

Lol what a clown

Not a huge Harris fan personally but she does have decent upside since she's aggressive and a good public speaker but a higher risk pick than some others too. I did look forward to her murdering Mike Pence in the VP debate.

Trump seems to have narrowed the swing state gaps from 9-10 to 6-7 in some recent polls. Still think Biden's in the 70 percent range or so, hope he can close it out from here just gotta run out the flock while polling outside the margin of error still and not do anything stupid in the debates.

The fact so many Dems will postal vote vs trump voters voting in person has me a bit worried about post office shenanigans or trump leading on election day before losing and claiming fraud so I'm just holding my field vs trump and Biden positions for now don't think I'll get more involved til much closer to.the election

Re: 2020 US Presidential Election Betting Thread

Glad I got out of the VP market pretty much unscathed since I would have been on Rice if I went heavy anywhere, had some penny stakes Rice at +4xx and Bass at +5500 but lost well under 0.1u so no damage done

Bit soon for me to get involved on state markets just holding my Biden/Field over Trump bets atm, Biden's lead seems to have come in from about 9 points to about 6-7 where it matters, still outside the margin of error but Trump's finally stemmed the bleeding. It's frankly quite ridiculous it's not a double digit margin given the massive unemployment and hundreds of thousands of deaths from mismanagement of the pandemic, but I do get it given Biden/Harris is hardly an inspiring ticket

What's our next sweat, the 'does Trump replace Pence with Haley or Ivanka or whoever' one I guess?

Pence is 1.07/1.08 back lay on Betfair

I fully expect it to be Pence, but who knows. Would be rough for Trump to risk Pence throwing him under the bus in the media, but also Trump does kinda need to shake things up and change the narrative away from his terrible mismanagement of the Covid crisis. I'd probably rather lay Pence than back him at that price, maybe 1.10 seems fair? idk
