Greeting baseball fans. As MLB season gets underway, let's start by doing some brain storming on how to bet the Totals.
As you probably already know, most totals are set at a very narrow range (between 7.0 and 9.5). We will see an occasional 6.5 and sometimes 10.0+. However, it is not uncommon to anticipate a game to finish 2-1 or 3-1. Likewise, to anticipate a game with 15+ runs combined. No book will set a game total at 4.5- or 14.5+.
The purpose of this thread is to highlight some of the teams that are likely to produce plenty of runs, while at the same time allow plenty.
Contrary, it would be interesting to list teams that will be anemic in scoring but also allow very few runs (the SD Padres at home with a good pitcher come to mind).
As for the former category, I can think of teams like:
-Minnesota
-Baltimore
-Texas at home
-Houston on the road
I like Cincinnati home games to go Over, minus the fact that Raisel Inglesias is a good closer.
I like the LA Dodgers' Unders at home but they appear to have one of the best offenses in the league.
hmm, interesting strategy. I wonder if anyone else who bets into the MLB market has thought about the fact that some teams will indeed score and allow more runs than other teams? Any other mind blowers?
