"We think of a wolf as the epitome of rapacious independence, but wolves, like all pack animals, are far less independent (and far less greedy) than your average sheep. Unlike sheep, wolves can act outside of their group because they’re not consumed by other-regarding behavior, but those actions are ultimately in service to the pack."

2017 for reference. How did we do?

Mine for 2018:
1) Work less
2) Post less
3) Win more

2017 was a great year for me life wise, not so good sports betting wise. Still killing props but I ran terribly on straight bets and, somehow, correlated parlays. Found a little bodega thats actually a front for a pretty big sports betting operation. They print out real tickets like in Vegas, but everything is in Spanish and the people behind the counter only speak Spanish. So you can imagine how difficult putting in parlays is. They also seem to know as much about taking bets as an average bodega cashier would, so that certainly doesnt help either. Luckily I have a spanish speaking, neck tattooed friend, so I can waltz in and out there without arousing suspicion and/or getting stabbed. They let you parlay anything, although I haven't tried 1H with full game same team yet. But stuff like 1H +10, u13.5, etc. And I'm somehow in the red there for the year.

December was good though and the playoffs have been awesome so far, so at least 2018 is off to a decent start. I bought a house and a drum set and Im currently teaching myself how to play the drums. Theyre insanely fun.

My goals are to have a bounce back year in a big way. 2016 was the best year and 2017 was the worst. I hope to surpass 2016. Also get back to networking a lot more. Put a lot of my account-getting-eggs in one basket, which has worked out fine for the better part of a decade, but he might be fading a bit. The mediocre year didnt help. And the big one... MODEL AN ACTUAL GAME!! EEEkkk! We'll see! Until then its all props all the time baby. Lets get this 2018 USD boys!

edit: Also, agree, DAYS OFF: NO

If to be taken literally ‘no days off’ is a terrible plan for someone who had an awful 2017.

Taking days off is a horrible idea for a pro. What if you miss a day you'd have crushed on?

Yea the best way to get better at something is certainly to do it less

I made a few assumptions with my comment. One was that you are not old(which I think could change things, but perhaps not). We are here for a finite time, and youve found something you are profitable at, but could very likely break even/have a low income wage doing it for a year. Maybe its better to manage your time chasing life experiences, or finding other potentially better avenues of work. Grinding sports every single night for the entire year sounds like something youll regret terribly unless you EV is such that you wont have to work past 35.

Last year made enough that I won't have to work anymore, some of that was bitcoin gains but doesn't really matter at this point. Can't really establish any profit goals anymore, just keep grinding it out as long as I can win.

Dream once again is to make it through this year without smashing any laptops or phones. My phone lasted all last year but I broke one laptop and damaged a second pretty badly. Compared to the year before that is pretty good, so maybe I will make it this year.

I have never once broken a computer or phone after a bad beat, but I know quite a few people who have. Mostly poker players actually. I knew a kid who went through a mouse a week. Do you guys really break things like that? I dont even watch the games most of the time and usually dont know if Ive had a good or bad day/week until I do my weekly figures.

If you are breaking laptops you are betting to infrequently or to high.
