I'm not super familiar with sports betting but I made the following bets for superbowl winners prior to the season starting, $228 total:

Panthers, $130 to win $4290

Raiders, $10 to win $60

Packers, $10 to win $100

Broncos, $10 to win $160

Lions, $2 to win $132

Cowboys, $10 to win $100

Steelers, $4 to win $56

Seahawks, $10 to win $100

Patriots, $28 to win $112

Giants, $10 to win $180

Titans, $2 to win $80

Dolphins, $2 to win $100

My question is, would it be possible to bet some amount (no more than $800) divided among the remaining playoff games the Panthers play so that regardless how close the Panthers get to the superbowl, I either get my $228 back or win at least like $3k if the Panthers win the superbowl? Does that make sense ? What would you do if you were me ? To make it simple I'll ignore stuff like the patriots winning..

I bet on the Panthers to win in 2015 before the season started but didn't do any hedging or bet on any other teams and in super salty about it now :P

Update on above : maybe it's too early to try to hedge? Like maybe my bet doesnt have enough value yet...If so, what level of the playoffs should I start hedging ? The divisional round ?

sitting out this week (now that my team got in) but BOL all. some interesting stats out there about ATL SoS and travels out west, but the last two years have been pretty chalky WC rounds. I think at least 1, maybe 2 underdogs this week could make it into the next round. FWIW I'd stay completely away from KC.

depends on if you believe Foles can be competent at home. I think public money will come in on ATL and bet this up a little more before KO. at this point nearly anyone "can" beat anyone else. Matt Ryan outdoors in the elements tho is a reason to at least pause.

wow, hadnt even looked at the %'s yet but you're definitely right (64/36). Still, most tickets to be written over the weekend but I cannot believe public is backing the dog. that will certainly change things on my end. as a general rule public dogs are usually auto-fade in my book.

that was a tough one no doubt. between that and the way UGA lost the previous Monday it was a rough week for wild last second turns. what is getting somewhat overlooked because of the final play is the number of lead changes that happened in the final 3 minutes. that just doesnt happen all that often at the end of NFL games.
