Poker Stars $1/$2 No Limit Hold'em - 4 players
2+2 Hand Converter Powered By DeucesCracked

BTN: $228.80
SB: $1361.80
BB: $96.85
Hero (CO): $213.35

Pre Flop: Hero is CO with Q 8
Hero raises to $6, 1 fold, SB calls $5, BB calls $4

Flop: ($18.00) T 6 Q (3 players)
SB bets $12, BB folds, Hero calls $12

Turn: ($42.00) 8 (2 players)
SB bets $30, Hero calls $30

River: ($102.00) 5 (2 players)
SB bets $68

Only have 2 orbits on villain, seems taggy.

Call or push? It would be ~$100 more for him to call.

Super easy push unless I am missing something

I figured most ppl would say push.

Hands I'm most worried about are QT, J9, 66. Prob is I don't see alot of other hands he would lead 3 streets with other than TP hands like KQ/AQ...there aren't really any smaller 2 pr combos that make sense.

So I guess the Q is will ppl call $100 more with their TP hands enough to make it worth it when I value stack myself against QT, J9, 66, etc?

i really don't think this is a push in that you will not be getting value from worse hands.

he led every street and you're still shoving over on the river for only $100 more? he's not going to put you on something like KJ, J9. if he has top pair he's more likely to put you on TTT than a whiff, and if he has any sense he knows you're unlikely to turn your own top pair or pair+missed straight into a bluff here. facing this raise he is likely mucking any one pair hand. the only conceivable hand you beat that i think might call this raise is T8, although maybe if the guy is frustrated/tilting you'll get a call from AQ.

against a fish/cs i shove here all day. against a std tag i prolly flat the river bet. he might be plannin on b/f the riv w/ kq type hands. and you realy are never bluffing here i thinks, so call is prolly best.

i think i just call

i like thin value but i just can't see him calling it all off with QJ here.

yeah, i'm relying on the read that villain seems taggy. if he hasn't done anything out of the ordinary i would be unlikely to try to get value from TP here.

what was your thinking on the turn? did you consider a raise, thinking he might have a pair + straight draw?
06-25-2008 , 03:12 PM
i think a raise on the turn gets more value as it sets it up for a bigger river bet. as played im not sure, i think raising on the river will get a lot of hands to fold that u can beat as he seems to like his hand a lot.

I did consider raising the turn and it may be a better play.

If I recall correctly I think I chose to call because I had a few stationy hands in the last few orbits and wanted to maintain/exploit that image. In other words tarp and let him keep firing his TP hands instead of getting scared off by a turn raise.

I did plan on pushing the river when I called the turn.

sooooooo i got a couplr pushes and a couple calls....anyone else?
06-26-2008 , 03:35 AM
I want one of those shoves :P
06-26-2008 , 03:39 AM
i like the turn flat call and id shove this river
06-26-2008 , 04:10 AM
If we don't raise the turn then pushing the river seems bit awkward.

Without reads I just call.

Just call, tight player wont call with worse. If he has hand like KQ, he would probably check somewhere in the hand or he is b/f river. Not to say it would be a strange way to play TP like that.

I pushed and he ended up calling with AQ but I think I just got lucky this time and should have raised turn smallish to like $75 and left myself about a $100 river push.

Not sure how MUCH better that line is vs what I did but I think its prob better.
