Joliq, what are your weaknesses as a player?
02-23-2009 , 03:58 PM
lol, I just realized it would be quite interesting to ask FGators the same question.
02-23-2009 , 04:28 PM
Orange and Terp, I'm halfway through 'Hand Readers.' Great work. These are just what I need right now!

Yes, board is so damn dry, what are we happy to see? AJ/KJ/QJ? Unlikely

Also bet is too big imo, I'd be happier betting like 48. Obv I'm shoving river when I get there, but once he raises it's a fold.

no matter what i end up doing, there is sure to be plenty of rage and/or cursing involved

Off the top of my head? And bear in mind that this is only what I can identify, and I rather clearly suck so I could be missing the point altogether:

1) I click-do-stuff when I know I shouldn't a lot/sometimes without stopping for a second and really thinking, which is more or less autopiloting but with a bad autopilot I suppose

2) I call too much, in general, probably pre and post. I'm probably quite a station really, and it's often when I know I shouldn't.

3) I think maybe I bluff too much in some spots, a really sort of common one for me is getting their range about right, but how they play it wrong - i.e. getting their range right then thinking they fold some hands they won't fold with. I think this might be misunderstanding some types of players, or not being aware of if they view me as kind of bluffy/aggro?

Actually that last one's quite a big one, I seem to get people's ranges roughly accurate a lot but the part I get wrong is what they're going to do with different parts of it. That and calling or betting when I shouldn't because my hands pretty, even when I know I shouldn't - which seems like poor self control.

The fgators comparison made a part of me die inside. Moreso because my red line started rapidly plummeting recently. Though I think that might be because all my lines started plummeting recently, which is the real bad news. But it is diverging from my blue line. I might be transforming into him

Joliq- while that was very nice and introspective, the correct answer was "hungry and sleepy".
02-23-2009 , 06:22 PM
Dammit, now I'm gonna have to go find the thread with that in. I had work to do.

whee
not having a fold button does have some benefits

Really appreciate if people stop saying crap like I'm the worst fish ever.

I'm not. I check/call a lot because people love bluffing me because I'm FGators and they think I fold and only play sets so they love floating me and making moves. I know this, so when I throw a 26% aggressive factor, etc. I could be more aggressive (for sure, I'm still too passive) but some of it goes back to inducing.

Also for those who have played with me I really want somebody to honestly show hands I play pathetically, get bluffed out of meaningful pots, or prove I'm one of the worst regulars on Stars.
02-23-2009 , 07:07 PM
fgators why didnt you respond to me on that other thread? GO GATORS FGATORS WE WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP HOLLLA
02-23-2009 , 07:10 PM
Orange,

Yeah it was awesome. I actually really thought Oklahoma was going to win that game for some reason. The other Gator championships (be it Noah, Brewer, and crew in NCAA basketball or the Ohio State game) I was super confident that UF would win the game.

Repeating is super tough but with the talent that keeps coming in and the return of Tebow I think it's possible even in the super tough SEC.

so what you're saying is basically

Wonder what my secrets is, *****z'll move on you
only if they know what your weakness is, I have none
02-23-2009 , 07:20 PM
I know I have weaknesses and don't think its the best to say them on this forum, though people like clayton, etc think they know it exactly, which I'm not sure they know my game as well as they think they do. Not that it matters and I appreciate their advice and much of it is helpful.
02-23-2009 , 07:22 PM
ya it was badass,i was at the game with dbc. i think we can repeat. are you going to any games this year? we shoudl meet up.
02-23-2009 , 07:27 PM
I'm not sure. I've never been to a UF college football game actually. I live in NYC now and would love to go to a game. Always been a fan but growing up in the Northeast it was tough.
02-23-2009 , 07:30 PM
