If anything, there should be more snooker chat. What a game, nothing like coming in from a hard day's work and cranking up the TV for some snooker, the most relaxing thing you can watch on TV (green baize=genius idea, green relaxes the eyes more than any colour).
When I was back home in the north we would have a roaring log fire and the snooker on while it was freezing cold outside and dark, sat in front of the snooker with a pint mug of tea and chocolate brownie, doesn't get any better than that after a hard day's slog. It's sad how snooker has slipped since the glory days, guys like Barry Hearn trying to 'spice up' the game and its image or whatever.
Willie Thorne could be a monster on his day at the felt, but he is probably just a degen now. Snooker really needs a dynamic commentator like Sid Waddell, best commentator in history IMO.
