Except, oddly, im really looking forward to it. As much as I love poker, i've come to realize that it makes me ****en miserable a decent chunk of the time. I remember working even ****ty jobs, and at least they never made me depressed afterwords.

i almost feel like i was at an unhealthy level of stress when i grinded for income to where i would get sick pretty often. 7 months at my job now and i haven't been sick once or felt anything near what poker would do to me mentally. guess i'm not as mentally strong at this game as some of you but i respect that

I was pretty happy overall when I was playing. Gonna play on a stake and grind my ass off
06-25-2012 , 11:01 PM

I'm with you. Been working about 14 months now. Stress free. Life is easy. My co-workers will complain of stress from time to time and I just laugh (not really, obv).

I remember calling you an idiot 14 months ago for quitting poker haha.

I've seen the light. Now just have to find a non ****ty job. Wish someone had told me before I got one that Law Degrees were useless sigh

if I didn't play donkaments my life would be fairly stressfree... Most major downswongs I have had have been from staking at way too high of an ABI and playing too many highstakes donkaments myself.

If you grind a lot at cash, even with a kinda weaksauce WR life aint so bad

my life would be stress free if i could quit getting in fights on the internet. i can't help myself. people have to know that I'm RIGHT

Good things to do to have more energy in general?

Been getting out of work completely exhausted. I hate that feeling. Haven't even had the energy to bone the old lady the past few days.

I haven't been exercising nearly as much as I used to, and my diet as gone to ****. Some basic plan of action would help me immensely!

start with a healthy food and you'll be good soon again Also take your rest and if you want to go hardcore do some cardio exercise next to sexy time
06-26-2012 , 05:34 PM
I do SS, I always recommend that. You'll be sore for 2 weeks or so, but you'll end up a lot stronger, not sure about energy but I imagine it helps. Just type Starting strength wiki and most of the info can be found there. Then you can download the SS videos showing you how to do the work outs, and it's easy peasy.

What will always increase energy is diet. Raw food diets are really good for energy, but if you don't want to commit you can always just cut out as much processed food as you can. Processed food takes forever to digest which saps you of your energy since your stomach basically spends all day digesting. Ramen takes 32 hours, now ramen is a real starchy, hard to break down food (Even home made it takes 20 hours), but basically if you cut down on processed food you can save about 1/3rd the energy you spend digesting your food. There's actually a video of ramen being digested, you can look it up but it's somewhat gross.

The only foolproof way I've found is to take lots of time off. Every time I take a job or get a pay rise I always haggle for extra vacation in lieu of money. Being fitter will help but only up to a point. Nothing will help more than taking holidays and using them well.

Not sure if anyone even came close to finishing last year, but just finished day 2 with the gf and pretty stoked. Ran the tough mudder on the weekend and super motivated. GO!
