i recently went back this past semester after poker fell through.

I think poker falling through was a huge blessing in disguise (minus me having 34k stolen from me). I feel like I'm living a somewhat meaningful life now. It's good to finally be working towards something rather than just getting up every day and grinding. IDK thats just me though.

I have about a year until i hit an internship. 34k would go a long way in helping pay for that to.

uhmm studying is the best time of your life. You only have to study 3 months a year and have 9 months of vacation. How the f can't you have fun while doing that?
06-08-2012 , 06:53 AM
Wait is that a thinly veiled brag?
Hmmm

Or you can study 0 months of the year and play all 12 months... :P
06-08-2012 , 06:54 AM
or you could play 2 months of the year and then have 10 months of vacation

amirite?

Spoiler:

or you can play whenever you feel like playing and your whole life is a vacation
06-08-2012 , 09:02 AM
but at the end of those years you have that stupid piece of paper that will open doors for you and your future. Without that piece of paper you won't get through that door even if you are qualified and have better specifications so better study those couple months a year and get your university degree and work towards your future.

Poker is nice for the money, but there is more than money alone and who knows what happens in the future. At the moment you already see regulations putting a stop to online poker or taxating it in a way that it gets almost unprofitable.

@jex nah it isn't a brag it's just facts. I think most of us are smart enough to be able to understand the information from classes and putting it all together. Main concern is our lack of responsibility / laziness. I for one am a f lazy ass idiot who doesn't even study when he should (cough now). My courses are all like 1k+ pages but I just read them 1/2 times and I manage it :/ (that might be a thinly veiled brag). Also Clowntable is the f boss in here going for PhD so he's the smartest bossnerd here.

//edit: stupid doublepost
06-08-2012 , 09:52 AM
+1 on studying. while poker may be nice for the money, the industry is too volatile and unpredictable and its no where near a secure lifestyle. unless you have a solid business plan for the present/future, you should be looking to get a degree to fall back on. you never know what is going to happen in 1-2 years time.

Point taken but wasn't this the 100k/day CEOs club?

Maybe concider some Euro school? I dunno what exactly you want to do but for mainstreamy stuff like MBAs and so forth there are plenty of 100% English courses around.
Also costs you close to nothing in tuition i.e. 160 Euro/semester in Germany.

Holland, Germany probably best options

I'm not sure getting a PhD is all that smart...well at least I get payed for a halftime job teaching/researching while doing it.
