Villian is a sold tag play VPIP: 18, AF: 14. So far we have tangled in 2 pots: a) i raised all-in on turn with top pair and he called with the same hand. b) pushed me off a hand on river when i had top pair on 3 flush board with all-in.

I think the way i played the hand is pretty spewy and i should have just called the turn. However, he could have hands with a big flush draw and did not want him to get there cheaply.

Should i have played this more passively and folded to the turn bet?

id bet the turn again for value, fold to a raise from this guy.

$50/fold on turn would be better.. I think you need a read to c/shove turn.. also c/c turn would be terrible..

Yeah, the c/shove is absolutely horrid. Until I read your explanation I thought you were trying to turn your hand into some fancy bluff. He never calls worse, the only real draw he plays this way is Ahx (sometimes this is even a queen). I think I c/c turn sometimes, but c/f might be better tbh vs a tight solid villain.
