My first response would be wtfbbq? I'd have been pretty shocked. I would have asked him what that decision was based on and how I could go about changing his mind. But yea it was a lock.

anyone have any favourite recipes for lamb shanks?
06-27-2012 , 09:59 AM
Damn lamb shanks sound delicious.

I haven't had lamb in forever, but marinated/served with mint sauce is a pretty classic way to do it

This recipe looks good also:

why are you donking river
06-27-2012 , 09:22 PM
melded a couple of recipes together for the shanks and went with a red wine, beef stock and diced tomato combination, with some vegies as well. huge issue though, i misjudged the size of the shanks when i bought them and they didn;t fit in my casserole dish (semi brag huge shanks). i spent 3/4 of an hour trying to cut the meat from the bone (there's a reason you need to cook them for hours, that **** is so tough and sinewy). in the end i basically had a boneless shank stew, but man it was worth it.

also interested in your reasoning shpanko. is it b/c you think he checks KQ/AK back a lot of the time?
06-27-2012 , 09:26 PM
yeah i dont really get the river bet much either....
06-27-2012 , 09:36 PM
Villain was a huge donk and I really thought that he'd check back Kx on the river. I didn't think that he would call a larger bet, $340 was the largest bet I thought he'd call. I didn't need to give him any room to bluff because it was obvious he had a hand. I think since he never folds to the $340 bet and since he checks behind a decent amount that this was a good play. I agree that it looks really weird but the circumstances were also weird with what kind of player he was.

I was surprised to see him shove AA tbh, but oh well.
