HU do you call this river? HU do you call this river?

Had only been playing a few hands with villain but I didn't think much of him as I was able to comfortably exert my own game, and run over him. Until this hand. I sensed he was making some random illogical moves now and again though, nothing really concrete, just seemed a bit spewy, but it wasn't a concerted effort.

Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $2(BB)
($96.19)
Hero ($585)

Dealt to Hero A8

Hero raises to $6, villain raises to $10, Hero calls $4,

FLOP ($20) T6A

check, check,

TURN ($20) T6A7

check, Hero bets $12, villain raises to $24, Hero calls $12,

RIVER ($68) T6A77

villain bets $60.19, Hero ?

I think I should have bet the flop once he checked to me, although there are merits to checking it, but as played do you call that river?
I have been playing very aggressive up till now and been eating his money away, so he could be getting fed up. That's a possibility.

I would fold river.

You really don't beat anything except a bluff on this board.
You chop with his weaker Aces and lose to his better Aces + random 7x + weirdly played flush.

its tough we dont know anything about the guy... some guys arent capable of checking a set there on the turn... and im not really worried about a flush because it was a 3 bet pot...

some really horrible players do something super weird lines that makes u extremely confused...

some guys always have it when they check min raise...

its tough to say r u looking for a default answer? like if this were the first hand of the match?

I agree that sometimes there are merits to checking with top pair. However the board is flushing. You do have the back-door with a weak kicker, but that really shouldn't come into play here. With the fact that you hit top with a weak kicker, means you probably should have bet out on the flop.

As far as the river, this is an easy fold. Too many unknowns, including just having you out kicked
