I would have raised him after the flop but a call is also good. Most likely he called your pre flop raise with 22-66 pocket pair or A- nut draw. I think most of the time your queens are good as long as a spade or another five does not come up. A raise after his flop bet would give you some value if he is on a draw but if he shoves and he seems nitty from what you observed he may have pocket fives or more likely A-5 spades.
