Not a fan of opening J9s UTG. Check turn, you have a good multicombo draw and he's never folding a better hand.

I tanked and nearly checked the turn and took my free card then just felt that he had too wide of a range preflop by calling out of the bb preflop and on the flop. To me that seemed like more of a reason to bet because I felt like he was folding hands like QJ, Q 10, 10 8, 8 6 any heart draw so I made a bet I thought he would have to have quite a strong hand to shove with, and obv i had good combo draw for insurance. Thoughts?

Trying to pry people off top pair at this limit is a recipe for going busto. The other problem with betting is that it commits you when you're never ahead.
