If you look at how many regular PLO tables running for example on Pokerstars, only few. But the ZOOM PLO pool is always running good.
Why is this the case?
I try to play some hands at ZOOM but after 5 minutes I couldn't focus anymore, because my head was almost blast away.
I have feel like it was a roller coster. I was totally f*** up.
I don't get it.Playing poker should make fun, try to adjust at your opponents and make good reads and try to exploite some weakness.

But the goal of PLO ZOOM is obv. playing many hands as possible and get into a rush and folding many weaker hands and don't even try to play some marginal spots because next second/round you get maybe a better hand in better position..
I don't even know how you can learn to play ZOOM profitable but thats another chapter.
Its not good for the future of poker and I don't get it why is this kind of poker so popular these days...
The old poker days were way better...Bring the old poker fashion back guys and ignore ZOOM.

If players are less likely to play marginal hands on Zoom you should be able to steal more frequently no?

There are at least 200 tables of omaha running right now. I wouldn't say thats a few.

ZOOM is definitely not bad for poker. It brings in a lot of player who wouldn't normally play poker at all. Fast paced, can get in a lot of hands quickly.

You don't need to have a lot of hands played vs villain to make good reads and exploit their weaknesses. And believe me, you can still do those things in ZOOM, I don't understand why not?

You still have to play good hands in bad position and bad hands in good position. If you wanna play vpip 10% and only in CO/BTN, you're gonna have a bad time.

I'm not trying to change your mind but rather let other readers of this thread know that ZOOM is bloddy awesome! Weather you are a casual or a reg. Its so much fun.

the best thing about zoom is it removes away the boredom of folding junk hands, which is actually the most of what you're doing while playing any kind of ring game poker. whoever was the first to come up with this idea is a genius.

Poker is a hugely negative sum game at stakes where zoom is played on a regular basis, the absolute worst thing for your profitability at the tables is when the least skilled players at the tables are fast folding their junk hands which lose them the most money. If poker was either zero sum (at the tables with rake/fees paid after the fact) or zoom had a significantly reduced rake to counteract the "higher winrates" of the losing players due to fast folding their junk hands, I wouldn't have made so many posts in the past stating why it is so bad for the poker economy, particularity at micros where rake is largely "unfair" to the players. I would say that Martin's viewpoint on the situation is most in line with what is objectively true. Grethe you mentioned some small positives and completely disregarded the massive negative I pointed out.

I don't have time to play but zoom, and anyway, it is time that matters, and time is life. As a bonus, I get a crack-fix from fast action (although a more expensive one). I feel some better hidden (wish it would be anonymous, no hud). I don't need to make as many difficult decisions (that are marginal at best) that I am unlikely to manage with my brain, although I am more a machine than a man but I don't understand emotions and can't manage the stress and psychology of personal warfare, and e.g. no bad seats.

Zoom is absolutely great considering your overall winrate,if you know for a fact youre making 9bbs/100 hands then wouldnt you want to maximize your volume?

Plus,in PLO Zoom especially,bad players are gonna remain bad,they gonna play hands they shouldnt and make terrible mistakes,just as reg tables.

The 3/4 tablin regs are pretty much the same everyday,so you normally develop reads as you would in reg tables after a while.

Look at it like this-If youre playing PLO1000 and every single decision counts cause its a quite big amount of money,plus your opponents play good then yeah,you need all the time and focus you need and reg tables are the way to go.

But if your playing small stakes vs a player pool that is 95% consisted of droolers then you wanna play as much as you can with them cause they gonna donate their money to you anyway at some point if you play long enough so you can afford to miss a few tiny +EV spots here and there cause at the next hand or at table number two someone is jamming his bottom pair/gutter vs your top set 250bbs deep.

If playing that fast at poker is making your head swim then just take a few seconds between hands. I get the same way stacking a ton of tables, I just essentially meditate and slow my self down so I'm not just spazz clicking buttons. Sounds like a little meditation would make zoom a better fit for you.
