so pokerstars launched fusion poker... its a new form of poker where you get 2 cards preflop and then one more card on the flop and turn... its pot limit and you have to use 2 cards from your hand

i wouldn't call it a "fusion" of texas and omaha just because you get 2 cards preflop and when i tried it out it didn't feel at all like texas

imo its just another form of omaha but with different equity calculations like 5 card omaha and courchevel

For equity calcs you just use PPT like normal with PLO and mask unknown cards with *

And yea it's basically just PLO (but ofc with the issues of hidden cards lol)

I played a bit fusion today and the main differences i noticed are that preflop equities seem to run even closer than omaha, assigning a range based on preflop and flop action is even harder and the turn is allot more dynamic since you get an extra card.

All these factors seem to promote a looser game in general.

i cant decide if i like it or not, defiantly a cool concept though. i like the idea of embracing new variants, the classic games are not going anywhere and theres no reason we shouldnt be trying out new forms of poker

I’ve never played this game before, but I’d really be surprised if zero equity pot sized flop bluffs on a wet board were profitable.
