Probably just check flop, if bet then bet less.
This is super important and took awhile to sort of sink in for me so I want to double down on it.
This hand is just bad. I get that there is some initial allure because its all 'connected' but its just not a good starting hand (unless you're heads up or maybe folded to you on the button or whatever)
If you hit hearts you're gonna feel good, until you start getting resistance.
If you hit one of your straight draws other than the one version that gives you the nuts you're gonna feel good, until you start getting resistance.
If you hit two pairs or 3 of a kind you're gonna feel good, until you start getting resistance.
Once you get resistance you're gonna feel much more like the 3 guys in Snatch with the guns that say replica on the sides.
When really. you want your hand to say Desert Eagle .50 and know that if you've hit your hand its just a question of how much money you get.
You don't want to hit your hand and then have to be scared of playing a big pot.
I feel like this is especially true at lower stakes where people generally play more straightforward and definitely true in multiway pots (which most hands seem to be at lower stakes)
