What does villain have here? What does villain have here?

Curious to get thoughts on this hand. I didn't know what to put BB on since it was a limped pot and they check raise into 2 others on turn.

The more I think about the hand the more I put villain on two pair or pair + fd. I have a lot of outs to a straight, some the nut and others not so much. I have one flush blocker. This seems like a borderline decision but I regret my decision now so curious to hear your thoughts.

PLO Matrix rates this hand a fold preflop so maybe that was best course of action but I decided to limp in.

Why it's a fold pre: You flop almost as well as possible, with a monster wrap, but have only 5 outs to the nuts.

Probably just check flop, if bet then bet less.

This is super important and took awhile to sort of sink in for me so I want to double down on it.

This hand is just bad. I get that there is some initial allure because its all 'connected' but its just not a good starting hand (unless you're heads up or maybe folded to you on the button or whatever)

If you hit hearts you're gonna feel good, until you start getting resistance.
If you hit one of your straight draws other than the one version that gives you the nuts you're gonna feel good, until you start getting resistance.
If you hit two pairs or 3 of a kind you're gonna feel good, until you start getting resistance.

Once you get resistance you're gonna feel much more like the 3 guys in Snatch with the guns that say replica on the sides.
When really. you want your hand to say Desert Eagle .50 and know that if you've hit your hand its just a question of how much money you get.
You don't want to hit your hand and then have to be scared of playing a big pot.

I feel like this is especially true at lower stakes where people generally play more straightforward and definitely true in multiway pots (which most hands seem to be at lower stakes)

This makes sense. For fun I ran a report on how much $ I've won and expected to win with a 3 card rundown and it wasn't pretty!! I'll tighten this up. thanks!

I'm still pretty sure it's a 7 or 6, but not the 6 ... but the point was more that when you hit this well you should want to put money in and have 11+ nut outs (like say KQJ8).

And I understand that at lower stakes you'll see one person have random TT here with another turning up with J876 and the wrap looks almost as good, but that's because your brain remembers those times and not the time it was J876 vs. QJ93.

Instead of just looking at this hand in Matrix and saying "maybe" it's a fold, look for the worst playable Jack high hand that's single suited you should play in the cutoff and compare it to this three of a suit J876 hand. If you did this, you'd ditch the "maybe" in your sentence and find a baseline for what should actually be played.

Don't limp, and certainly not this hand.

Turn is a very very clear fold.

Flop bet is probably dodgy, but it's fine.
