Hello,

Here's a hand I played today:
PokerStars - €0.10 PL Hi (6 max) - Omaha Hi - 2 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (SB): 227.5 BB
BB: 71.8 BB (VPIP: 42.23, PFR: 4.44, 3Bet Preflop: 3.57, Hands: 7,175)

Hero posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has A A Q K

Hero raises to 3 BB, BB raises to 9 BB, Hero raises to 27 BB, BB calls 18 BB

Flop: (54 BB, 2 players) 9 2 J
BB bets 44.8 BB and is all-in

What would you guys do?
And on a 993 flop?

That's a situation I'm facing quite a lot and I'm not sure how to handle it when I don't know my opponent.

Thanks, looking forward to the "fold pre" comments

yeah would have totally gave him a walk here. we have 3 diamonds in our hand and with AKQ we're clearly going for the rundown straight sort of thing, so the second ace totally hurts. so yes, fold pre at every opportunity.

/s

ok, now for real:

preflop is good, you're never going wrong with shipping as much money in as possible with aces. He looks really passive though. 4 PFR, three friddy 3bet. That is mainly nut suited hands and big pairs, usually with suits.

[edit: didnt realise it was HU, thought it was BvB in a 6max]

how does he play post flop? If it is as fit or fold as his Loose/passive pre style suggests, I would play the hand differently.

[First off, we act first. Checking is sort of waving the white flag, unless villain only bets if he has it and never bluffs. So if he is that type, meh, i still dont love it, but i'll allow it and then we c/f.

but jesus thats weak!

I would bet/fold on the smallish side. 15 bb.]

[As played, after checking and]
getting shipped on, depending on the read: If he's fit or fold loose passive I fold. If he's aggressive and reading your check correctly i call and pray.

Now for the 993 flop: here I'd always stack off and just try to find the line that will get him to stack off. if he has the 9 as a dangler, good luck to him. if he has a middling rundown, good luck to him.

I bet/call 22.4bb.

If he is aggressive, I check with the intention of snapping him off.

Usually this means he doesn't have a flush. Usually. I am calling in both scenarios.

Thank you.

That makes sense, and since I blocked A-K-Q...

I called, he had 5678, no runner-runner full house / quads.

In both cases (assuming similar SPR on 2nd hand) you are going to (or should) ship flop, if he checks. Now you get the same range equity, but he can be bluffing.

What's going on here?

I'd bet V has a AF < 1.

Nothing too unusual for the micro stakes on spanish / french (shared market) pokerstars. Not a lot of competent players there. But then, good players (not me) don't stay there for long.

Statistics don't tell you the whole story though. This guy usually joins tables with 40 BBs, gambles a bit (post, almost never pre) until he reaches 100+ BBs and then plays fit-or-fold poker.

It was sarcasm. Against your opponent, it seems like you can trivially fold against someone who plays so passively.
