Facing a very tight player whoes 4Bing range is very rich in AA

Board: JT5

CO RFI (PSB), Hero on BTN w/ KJT9 3B, folds to CO who 4bets, hero calls

Flop: villain checks, hero PSB it in, villain re rips, shows AAxx

Was this okay on my part? Holding 2BDFD and top 2p at such a low spr it seemed like the move

the real question im wondering about is: when is it appropriate to GII with top two on the flop?

i forgot to say we are both around 100bb in this hand, and honestly im having trouble doing the mental math figuring out what the flop SPR was

Um its obviously fine getting it in here, hero is in great shape unless other 2 cards are a set and you have several redraws.

I’m lost. We have top two against a likely overpair, two BDFDs to decently high flushes, and a gutter. Once he doesn’t have AAJJ, AATT, AA55, AAKQ and AAJT we’re in great shape.

Maybe he wants to trap or something.

Hi thanks for getting back to me everyone. I am not an experienced player, i guess this question is very obvious but at the time I asked it I was thinking that bare two pair might be too light to GII (but clearly it is).

I guess a more constructive question would be: in a SRP where the SPR is still so high on the flop, are we willing to stack off OTF with bare two pair on a rainbow board?

There is a point where the SPR is high enough that we cannot stack off with bare top two, typically in limped pots vs passive opponents.

Texture also matters, for instance if the flop is K72r and you happen to have K765 you probably want to think about it.
