1/2 PLO. Game is online but plays more like live (high VPIPs, lots of multi way pots).

H is the biggest winner in the club probably. Plays about 45/30/7 if V is paying attention.

V plays about 70/10/5. H has a note on V that he shouldn't be bluffed.

Effective stacks $200.

H is dealt As6sAcTh in SB. Two limps including V on the button. H pots. BB calls and both limpers call.

Flop ($40) - Ad8sTd. H bets $30, folds to V who calls.

Turn ($100) - Qd. H?

Pre and flop seem standard. Turn is probably the worst card in the deck. flush draw got there, as did J9 and the broadway gutter. V has about $150 back. Do we bet (in which case we're definitely priced in to call)? Or check and evaluate based on sizing (getting odds to call a 1/2 pot bet, but not full pot)? Or check and call any bet?

Check turn - you only have 20% of your stack in there so far, you dont have the nuts and villain probably isnt calling anohter bet with a hand thats behind unles he also has a set which is unlikely.

So if we check the turn, what are we doing when V quickly “pots”?

Obv any other sizing (smaller) is an easy call.

Check fold to anything which is more than half pot

and no you don't get owned by doing that since you just check your flushes too ok?

I repeat: When you hit the ****ing nuts on that turn instead of having AA, YOU CHECK IT OKAY?

Good. Now you can check fold the aces.

I would usually check the turned flush here at this stack depth. Deeper I would bet it to try to cooler someone. That said, a couple points:

1. I'm not super concerned about balance generally, and I'm definitely not worried about balance against this player. Anyone who's VPIPing 70% and who I've noted is unbluffable is not someone who's going to exploit us.
2. If I were worried about balance, it's very hard for me to have the nut flush here since I raised pre from the SB in a limped pot. I'm a position whore and have a very tight raising range from the SB. With the Ad on the board, I'd need to have something like good KK with Kdxd, some very good rundown with Kdxd, or something like AAKdxd, in order to raise pre and have nut flush here.

someone correct me if i'm wrong (i'm here to learn), but we balance by widening our calling range on the turn on a flush completing turn, not by checking our nut flushes.

also, not folding top set on turn for psb.

I agree with Loctus here. We check with the intention to fold. Check/calling here can't be great as you said yourself, turn is the worst card in the deck. Straights came in, flush came in. You don't have a straight blocker, you don't have a flush blocker and you block your own boat out.
