Hi all,

PLO5, V is regfish, was caught bluffing for $1,100 otr with the nfb a couple hours ago. Unfortunately for him V did not see the flush get there and jammed with the nut straight. So he is stuck about $8k. We are $1,600 eff.

V opens HJ, btn calls, hero in sb has ss AAT96hhh and flats. Bb folds.

Flop ($50): 4-A-8r. V $50, call, hero calls.

Turn ($200): Td bringing bdfd. V $200, fold, hero call. Merit to raising. I liked to keep his bluffs in and also no awkward stack size left on bad rivers.

River ($600): 4c. Hero x, V $600 (actually, he moves all in lol). Hero snap rips.

Do you have a diamond?

I prefer a raise on the turn, with the 96 in hand. He’s not likely bluffing without equity, so he might just repot, especially if he’s a little tilted. If he flats your c/r on the turn, SPR on river will be 0.5. I’m not sure it’s super awkward, but I can see what you mean, with any card from 6-K making a straight.

I guess you nearly always have to call, however, if you arrive at this 0.5 SPR river. His range on the flop seems weighted to mid-rundowns, so you may only have to fade diamonds, a 9, 6 & 5. Knowing if the flop Ace is a diamond could be significant, if it comes a diamond river.

Makes it less likely that he has nut diamonds (i.e., having top pair and nut diamonds is great for barreling all the way). There’s still some AKQT in his range with the Kd of course.

Jam turn. You unblock stuff you get value from, and also underrealize on rivers. Your hand doesn't block draws well enough, and also block 3 barrel bluffs heavily with the AAT.

Flop is probably a raise too but I don't hate a flat.
