Hi All,
Apologies if this is TLDR.
Game is 1/3/ Full ring PLO with a 100-500 buyin..
Hero is 50's known NIT....EX Poker Manager from same casino and now rec player ....Well known to Villain...
I have bought in for $250 (tight arse) and currently have a $550 stack..
Villain is 50ish reg..Been what considers a Pro Poker player (doesnt have a normal job) /self managed investor plays poker (mainly PLO) everyday for at least 20 years..He starts games/organises games/knows everyone.
Villain has dropped a full buyin already when his top 2 pair and str8 draw lost to a rivered flush and reloaded for $500..He has a stack of approx $650.He has a fair amount of gamble in him but is extremely knowledgeable in the game and skilled reading of players...I value his opinion but also know he could lie through his teeth to make me feel better...
We are 2 hours into the game....

OTTH

I am in the SB with A2A6
There is a $6 straddle..
Villain is UTG and pots it making it $21...This is Australian Casino therefore our pot raise rules are strictly on Pot size which most likely differ from Murica casinos.
2 callers in MP/HJ and i decide to call OOP in the SB as im not too thrilled in my single suited aces and lo cards/position/risk averse and prefer to play postflop. I can easily fold Aces on wet boards that dont hit me well.
I didnt think a reraise would necessarily thin the field and it wouldve made my hand faceup so lets keep my range open...BB calls and the straddler calls..
Pot is approx $126
FLOP is K45
I check...BB and straddler check...Villain fires out pot $126..
2 folds....I deliberate all options and decide on a call with nut flush draw, gutterball 3 for str8 and overpair......but really just hoping for a non pairing club or possibly an Ace.
BB and Straddle fold and we are headsup...
Note...Im 3 seats from villain and i hear him mutter the word "Beautiful" once i call. Dont know what to make of that...Either he has top set and is licking his lips at a big pot or the one guy he didnt want to call him just did and now he has a decision whether to couble barrel..
Pot is now $378
TURN is K456
I check...Villain thinks for about 5 seconds and fires out pot again $378..I wont go through all the combos he could have but they are plenty..
If i call im effectively allin... Well He knows im a NIT and calling $126 on flop action is fairly significant of a decent hand for me..so this turn is for stacks..
I eventually folded....Mathematically my equity i think was roughly 28% vs KKxx on the turn...
Im interested in how many peeps would call it off vs a tightish fold...
Did i **** it up by not raising Pre.....Am i being too MUBSY?

Side note...At the end of the session i cashed out for $500 and asked Villain if he had KKK and he said no he had K4xx and decided to go with it on the turn which could be utter BS or the truth...and then said to me "You were flushing right?"..but then pulled the old raised eyebrow trick when i told him i had Aces as well...That got me wondering ....

3bet pre, you are shallow enough.
As played, good spot to lead/gii otf
as played, easy c/shove otf
as played, dunno, probably, given your passivity you probably got enough straights in your range to c/f this one ott

3-bet pre. You can pot it to about $110 if I did the math right, which if you get one caller gives you $440 behind in a $260 pot. Hard for you to make a lot of mistakes post-flop at that point. Your hand loses a lot of its value going to the flop 4-way.

As played, x/shove flop. You're ahead here a lot, but obviously vulnerable. V can get it in with stuff like Kx with a worse flush draw or with a straight draw, or bottom two, or other hands that you're ahead of, so not a spot that you're only getting called by worse.

On turn, call or fold is basically a coin flip. You're getting odds to call against two pair, but not against a set or straight.

At worst your a 60-40 dog on the flop only against KKXX and if he has two pair its a flip. I'm happy to get this in considering you have flush outs straight outs and higher set opportunities.

Thankyou for replies..

Agree with all...Butchered the hand because i was protecting my profit at that point (which was +$300)..Shoulda raised pre even when OOP..shoulda been happy to GII on flop....Stoopid me was using tin foil hat syndrome as i had won the last 3 pots i was involved in and thought i was due for a loss (abstract game flow reasoning) when i should have just blasted away..Lesson learnt ....Nits gonna Nit...
