Ahh, I was a little off. 4 weeks is a long time for NZ. If you're travelling all the way from Germany, I recommend that you look at visiting the Eastern coast of Au for a week or two. Maybe check out Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane/Queensland.

It would be very good for the PLO ecosystem if more professional players shared your viewpoint about what is actually best for them in terms of EV. Zoom with rake that is exactly the same as comparable regular tables is the worst thing to happen to online Poker.

Poker economy aside, what's the data behind the zoom hate?

Anyone in Vegas this summer?

Its been a long time for me and I am heading there next week. Pretty pumped to donk around in some live games.

I'm playing, I hear aria has an ok 5/5 omaha game but not sure if there are better options for 5/10 10/20. Gl.

Nice! Yeah, I've always heard about the games at Aria. Ill probably stop by there one night or two to check it out.

Other than that I will probably get back to my roots and do some poo flinging (LHE). I don't know why, but I still enjoy live LHE far more than I should.

For LHE I hear bellagio is by far the best option.

Unless you're playing the WSOP tournaments, is there any merit in going to Vegas for the summer? I've yet to find a major poker festival where cash games are better during than before or after. I guess I should qualify this by mentioning I've never been to the WSOP, so my frame of reference is more the Aussie Millions and APAC majors.

I obviously don't play high stakes cash, and I have never played in the WSOP, but I assume that when people talk about cash games being great in the summer during the WSOP they are largely referring to high stakes cash games.

For the mere mortals, such as myself, who are looking to play LHE, mixed games, and draw games up to 15/30 or even 20/40, some 2/5 plo, or the rare 1/2 or 2/5 NLH game, then no. The cash games are probably largely the same. A nice mix of recreational players and grinders.

Yeah that sounds pretty reasonable. I guess the fact that some ridiculous stakes run across the summer is what makes it seem like games are great.

Nah. Just a week. That's about as much Vegas as I can handle before I have to get out of there.

Live PLO sucks balls. Games barely run, anything higher than 1.5BI immediately goes off the table, and getting stuck early in the night is almost a sure fire way to quit down. How were the Vegas games?

Games were great! It was kind of incredible. The online poker landscape seems like it has always been in flux, but the live poker setting is exactly the same now as it was way back when I first started playing. Bigger, but still the same in terms of play. People even have all the same stupid one-liners that they had 10+ years ago.

I played all over the place, but ended up spending most of my time playing in the 1/2 NL game at my hotel because it was convenient, and just too much fun to pass up, even for a guy like me who sucks balls at NL. Most people bought in for $500 and there was usually between 5-8k on any table at any given time of day. Ended up somewhere around even for the trip (which is pretty typical for me). Make money playing poker, go have fun and gamble with winnings playing table games, lose winnings, go back to poker, repeat process. It was a pretty fun time.

Live PLO has been on a pretty steady decline where I am. Games are running where they have always run, but they're not starting in more fickle locations. Plus these poker apps creating a faux online type game have been depleting the player pool. Quality across the board is definitely lower. Outside of the major hubs, it's not uncommon for games to be cyclical, but it doesn't make it any less annoying.
