Talked to Johan and Juha recently. Both seem to be doing well and are playing a ton of live poker at casinos all over Europe.

Has anyone tried RIO poker and the great game action yet?

I deposited some € and gave Phil a shot.
- hopeing his scurity team is better fighting bots/collusion

some known annoying issues:
- not possible to tile tables yet
- "too fast" all in show downs
- replayer doesnt show pictures of opponents cards but Ah Ts ... instead

Software seems solid in generel.
Those splashed pots create action unfortunately there is a lack of stakes currently (no PLO20, 100, 400)

I've watched some of the JNandez streams on RIO and it seems like a lot of fun and a cool product in general. Gonna take a long while to get significant action there though.

Out of all cash game formats, I think PLO with splashed pots has the biggest potential, closely followed by NLH with splashes but miles ahead of anything without splashes. I have a feeling that DeepWater Holdem may actually be Stars' upcoming version of splashed pot cash and perhaps even co-branded with UFC too, and may eventually be complemented by DeepWater Omaha if successful. Splashes are just way too great not to be copied by Stars.

That said, I just find CGs more profitable than donkaments anymore. I like shortstack play because there's enough gamble, and the stakes get pretty high (to weaker opponents' detriment) in deep runs or large prizepool multipliers, but also enough edge if the payout structure is complicated (with payjumps, bounties, forced all-ins favouring larger stacks a lot, etc.).

Around 3 years ago, in a bout of panic, I decided to spend my life savings on a kind of real estate, and my mental health issues are unfortunately continuing and limiting my play and study time, so I don't see much value in moving up until I have a reasonable track record.

I consider being staked with coaching a waste of EV, though. If I had enough energy to work as much as staked regs are required to, I'd be better off working on my own anyway.

I'm currently a reg at $1 Spin & Go Max (presumably to be rebranded as UFC Tornado soon and move to its own top-level lobby tab next to old-school UFC Spin & Gos, fingers crossed), at least for the start of this month, but I'm all for moving up quickly if the all-in EV turns out better than on the previous tries.

Any Spartans here? As in Spartan racers. I'm thinking of going to Malaysia to run Super in July and/or the Beast in the Philippines in October. Long shot, but maybe someone may be interested and going.

Will be engaged shortly, just graduated from law school, clerking for a judge for a year and then doing big law in Chicago. Every once in awhile I will miss the old days, like today, and find myself looking up random poker **** when I am supposed to be studying for the bar exam.

Oher than my parents and brother, haven't seen a single former friend or family member since March 2018.

At least I have my new cat (old cat got sent to live with my grandparents when I got locked up in Maximum Security For the Criminally Insane in 2017 and they kept her).

I haven't really played poker since the fall of 2016. Had some months where I tried to get back in action but didn't really go well even though I'm pretty sure I'm up a small amount since "retiring."
