Pee bottles exist for this purpose. They're an insurance against the fun player returning earlier than you.

Now I understand why some poker sites are not so eager to allow observation any longer - you see how bad HS habits rub off on micro regs.

Godspeed! Easy ways aren't always bad; I was inventing hard ways throughout my life, but I'm gradually learning to make it effortless.

i berate them every time this happens. ****ing idiots cant play a few rounds without the rec player. its flat out embarrassing and i wish something could be done about it. this **** would never fly in a live setting and if it did, the rec player would recognize whats going on and would deter him from coming back to play in the future. the fact that type of behavior goes on at 50plo is a huge problem for the overall health of the game

Does this apply to live 3-max as well? Once in Minsk, I refused to play a reg HU until the regfish returned from a smoking break, but I thought it was more justified because the live NL200 rake (5% with a >=$3 cap, I don't remember how big) is just too huge for HU. And it didn't seem that the drunk regfish cared (he had even asked a permission from us to go on break), of course we resumed instantly when we returned.

I think that's fine. A lot of live people don't like playing HU, period. I don't think most fish would think anything from it.

However, if the fish sees you'll play HU against him, but not against the reg, then that might cause problems.

If the players were playing to the death, and their families death also - ie you busto and then you and your family die, would it be disgusting then?

Although an extreme metaphor, its still true that money = time. So I don't find it disgusting, I just find it pathetic. How the **** do you sit out in live games anyway? not post the blind? Push your chair back and read a paper?

I don't get your metaphor at all. But to answer your question, one person might say something like "you want to wait until he gets back? I don't want to play 4-handed."

In our case, it was actually the dealer who understandingly asked whether she should continue dealing HU.

If there are more people at the table, they'll just all stand up and go for a walk. An oblivious dealer might ask a clarifying question to the one who was about to post a big blind whether to deal him/her in, but that's OK.

saw something similar in vegas this summer. i called the guy out on it. he just said he was that his seat was unlucky (complete bs obv). changed seats 3x. i finally was able to grab the first seat change btn to prevent him from moving again. perfectly legal what he was doing but so unethical. the game was soft enough as it was. live regs man
