Ok im looking to start from scratch at PLO, I want to realistically move up the ranks as quick as possible. Seems I don't fully understand (but have an idea) of PLO variance nor do I have any PLO buddies I have no one to swing this sorta stuff by.

for my life situation tossing $100 on if I happen to runbad early and bust isnt a big deal, depositing $500+ is a large amount for me, specially in a game im not fully comfortable in yet

PLO2
Up: $75 (15bi @ next level)

PLO5
Up: $150 (15bi @ next level)
Down: $50 (10bi @ current level)

PLO10
Up: $750 (30bi @ next level)
Down: $100 (10bi @ current level)

PLO25
Up: $2,000 (40bi @ next level)
Down: $625 (25bi @ current level)

PLO50
Up: $5,000 (50bi @ next level)
Down: $1,500 (30bi @ current level)

PLO100
Up: $12,000 (60bi @ next level)
Down: $4,000 (40bi @ current level)

PLO200
Up: $35,000 (70bi @ next level)
Down: $10,000 (bi50 @ current level)

TLDR; Want to move up to PLO25 asap, how does my BRM look, what is a standard BRM like for each level?

as for skill I was beating NL25 before

As stated, lots of BRM threads here, however.

I like 60 buyins for PLO. I usually keep 30 to 40 on a site, and the rest off site. I dislike having all my funds tied in one place. I could go lower on the site, as I only play a couple tables of zoom, but its a mental thing for me.

Variance in the game comes from the style you choose to play, and the number of tables you choose to play. If you decide you want to play more pots, and mix it up, variance will be a bit higher, so more buyins is good. If you prefer to sit back and pick your spots, variance will generally be lower, so a smaller roll can work. That being said, you really can't have too many buyins for whatever level you're comfortable at.

Don't ever play with less than 20 buyins at any limit above 400 except in extreme circumstances. ~

If you've never lost at least 10% of your entire net worth in a day playing poker before, you're a nit or have way too ****ing much money.

PLO25 and below are rake traps, you really want to get to PLO100 asap.

A universal BRM guideline: take what nits advise and divide it by 2

I like this "move up and move down" kind of brm a lot more than the "always have 200bi for the stake" kind of thing. In the second approach it takes forever to go up a level. In the former one you can expect more swings through the limits, but its a lot quicker if your lucky enough to run good (or normal).

Yeah I find it quite silly, rather spread my 40bi or whatever and spread over 3 stakes so I can move up quicker.

Lots of ups and downs but they are quick ups and downs till the rungood when u move up lol

i really like aggressive brm approaches, but you're gonna need to be 100% disciplined to move down according to your brm.

You also have to consider sitting in juicy games underrolled. When i was playing PLO100/200, i would happily sit in a very juicy PLO400/600 game and just nit it up. So yeah, overall i prefer a more fluid approach to BRM where you start taking controlled shots once you are comfortable and comfortably rolled for your current level.

This looks good to me.You can never be too conservative with brm in plo.Important thing

is your winrate,if you have higher winrate you can take more aggressive approach.

Conservative is safer. The more aggressively you try to climb stakes the harder you will fall when you inevitably hit a downswing.

With that being said I have personally played in a lot of games underrolled and suffered the consequences going fully busto more than once. Skip forward to today and I still play some stakes underrolled but I like to think my risks are better calculated after the experiences.

Don't listen to these degens. If you want to grind up a roll it takes time and patience. If you can save up money at least start at 10nl. If you don't have money to do that wait until you do. Start with 500 bucks and grind it up at 10nl. I worked my way up to playing 4 tables. I tried 6 but it was to much for me on decision making. So 4 tables was the nuts for me. When I got to 1250 i went to 25 if i lost 10 buyins back to 10nl. Then when you get to 2500 playing 50nl and if you lose 500 back to 10nl. If you try run up the stakes to fast i seen this time and time again they lose to much and get discouraged and quit. Key is to grind it up slowly. The more tables you play and the more hands you grind the more money you will make. It is a slow process but imo its the best way to go about it.

One way to protect your bankroll is when your having a bad day cut the session short. I try go 8 hrs every day but cut it at 4 hrs if i am running bad, but i don't take the day off i spend the next 4 hrs going over hands and seeing where I can improve my game and at the same time get my mind set on track to play correctly and not be result oriented. When you do this trust me it saves a lot on the bad down swings. I have a nice graph going up from using this style.

If you can't get 500 bucks together try bink a micro tourney. they have some that are like 5 bucks and first place gets 500-1000 range. I binked a few of them to get a cash game roll going in the past.

Another approach is to go up for a ~5 buyin shot at the next level while having 50 buyins at your current stake.

So you move up when you have 50 buyins and move back down if you lose the 5 buyins, so you are at 40 in the previous level, or you move up right away.

Might need a couple of shots tho
