at 50 you risk day passes to the zoo so you gotta be a bit smarter, at 25z you only risk mcdonalds for 2 (or two meals for yourself) so you can play like a monkey a bit more. Anything lower is play money so don't worry
My experience is that people pay attention to their opponents a bit more, try to exploit position more.
Nitting it up will potentially stop you from losing in some marginal spots, but if you are shot taking, I would think that you would be open to the fact that you can lose a couple buy ins, so play tight to begin with, but adjust your style for the type of plays and players you are facing.
The point of shot taking isn't to play uber tight, its to try and adjust to the level of play and potentially hit a heater so you can move up a bit quicker.
Maybe start with one table, use the fold but stay at the table option to try and get some information from showdown in interesting spots. Basically pay more attention until you're comfortable and can auto-pilot more situations.
There are lots of gamblers at those stakes, but generally the games seem to run a bit tighter.
