Hi,

PokerStars - €0.05 PL Hi (6 max) - Omaha Hi - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (BTN): 195.8 BB
SB: 105.6 BB (VPIP: 64.68, PFR: 49.70, 3Bet Preflop: 12.78, Hands: 1,025)
BB: 100 BB (VPIP: 19.37, PFR: 10.88, 3Bet Preflop: 2.48, Hands: 1,439)
UTG: 130 BB (VPIP: 59.66, PFR: 7.20, 3Bet Preflop: 3.99, Hands: 885)
MP: 310.2 BB (VPIP: 50.71, PFR: 26.69, 3Bet Preflop: 18.78, Hands: 7,469)
CO: 108.6 BB (VPIP: 71.05, PFR: 39.57, 3Bet Preflop: 14.41, Hands: 803)

SB posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has 8 J Q Q

fold, MP calls 1 BB, CO raises to 4.4 BB, Hero raises to 15.6 BB, fold, fold, MP calls 14.6 BB, CO raises to 63.8 BB, Hero calls 48.2 BB, fold

Flop: (144.6 BB, 2 players) 2 6 3
CO bets 44.8 BB and is all-in, Hero calls 44.8 BB

Turn: (234.2 BB, 2 players) 4

River: (234.2 BB, 2 players) K

CO shows Q A 5 A (Straight, Five High)
(Pre 64%, Flop 60%, Turn 80%)
Hero shows 8 J Q Q (One Pair, Queens)
(Pre 36%, Flop 40%, Turn 20%)
CO wins 220.2 BB

So, I felt good about that hand, but when I reviewed it in PT4, I noticed it listed it as an EV- one (C All-In Adj = -€1.07), and now I'm confused.
First, I thought C AI Adj was calculated when players bet/call AI; that obvisouly can't be the case since I'm calling OTF 44.8 BB in a 234.2 BB pot with 40% equity. I'd appreciate explanations about it.

And then, does that mean it's a bad play?
Tought process:
CO PFR is 39.5% (not a huge sample size, though...), for sure I'm ahead w/ a double suited and connected high pair and I'm IP, so I 3bet.
Now that he 4bets, he must have AAxx and I still have a profitable call w/ a really easy decision OTF.
With a FD OTF, I have to call.

Thanks!

I also used to be confused with this.

The all-in EV is calculated for the entire hand. So your all-in EV is negative but you decision point on the flop is +EV.

Think of it this way, if you fold on the flop, your all-in EV line will drop 63.8bb ($3.19).

If you call the 44.8bb bet, the pot total will be 220.2bb (234.2-rake) which you have contributed 108.6bb. 39.63% equity x 220.2 = 87.3bb, so you still lose on the hand, 87.3 - 108.6 = -21.3bb (-$1.07)

Calling loses 21.3bb ($1.07)
Folding loses 63.8bb ($3.19)

So calling is +EV relative to folding, but the entire hand is -EV based on equity at the all-in point.

Hope this make sense.
