Villain played many marginal hands with a lot of draws, backdoors and gutshots, even with 3 to a flush in his hole cards. I decided to just call pre and possibly trap, but this hand can also be a 3-bet, I guess. I flopped the goods and decided to go according to plan and call on the flop. And here is the question - is it a mistake to just call on the turn and not raise for protection? If so, at what frequency we can continue with just calling in order to extract additional value?

I think a case can be made for raising the flop, or waiting for turn/river. I would probably raise flop 20% of time, raise turn 60% and raise safe rivers 20% just so we protect our checking range on every street.

Imo you should not call. you should raise on the turn because you had the nuts on the turn and can get plenty of value from worse hands, but probably wont have the nuts when the river comes and that puts you in a tough spot, specially oop

You have to check-raise the turn as played.

This is not a good hand to 3bet. The good thing about check/raising the turn is it makes no sense, so you'll probably pick up great value and have a chance to stack him on the river.

Preflop call is fine. Not liking rainbow hand but whatever, its heads up.

Flop check-call is good as dry as this board is. Depending on opponent I may go for lead hoping he raises so I can jam on him, but we can also just see a turn, hope we don't get a straight making card and evaluate.

Turn is time to act. Flush draw and straight draw out there. Check is fine, although a lead is also fine, but once he bets, you have to get the money in.

On river, you now are in a tough spot. You underrepped your hand, so now you have to pay the price when you really had very few river cards you wanted to see. Pot size bet is quite polar, He's not doing this with a set, so it's a straight or air. Given I'd never arrive at the river here slowplaying this much, hard to say if call makes sense. If opponent is prone to bluff rivers have to call, if he rarely does, time to fold.
