sometimes you drop 5-10 buyins just because of variance. that's plo.

Great going with the tournament. I just don't have the time at night to play those, but I do very well at tourneys so seriously need to try one a month at least.

I was going on tilt myself at the PLO 10...

I think that is the hardest part of PLO. I lost 3 straight times going all-in preflop with pocket aces. Just to have the other players catch on the river all 3 times.

Re: Ok to Move up to .10/.20 cent PLO?

With rake I wonder how profitable it is to get it all in pre with AA. At PLO 10 the rake cap is .75 for a two way pot. So basically you donít hit the cap until there is $15 bucks in the pot. So if you risk 7.50 you could only expect a return of 6.75...

It's fine. Even in the "worst" case scenario

Omaha Hi Simulation ?
600,000 trials (Randomized)
Hand Equity Wins Ties
AA 56.39% 337,363 1,961
JcTd9c8d 43.61% 260,676 1,961

we still have a 12.78% edge on the action. Plus our dominant share of any dead money. And usually, our edge is much higher, vs say KK we can be 70% easily.

Plus we don't even have to pay the rake half the time.

Did the math on this with effective stacks at 100bbs. Including rake and using PPG's percentages, we profit $0.86/hand from a worst case scenario. 8.6bb profit isn't bad.

edit: it's actually very slightly more than that because I didn't include blind money.

I feel you and you have my sympathy.

Last week I had a 1/2 hour break and decided to log in for some PLO 10. The table was extremely aggressive, with basically zero fold equity. Think Bingo on steroids. Several times, multiple players were all in pre and three times for me, all in pre, my aces got busted. It seems like it's a little easier to take when you're beat with solid hands but when three or four people are all in pre and you watch a pot go down to some guy who went in with a hand like J733 (or something similar) and hits a 7 high flush on the river, it's a lot more frustrating.

Anyway, my 28 minutes of PLO 10 cost me $51.

Likewise, I feel for you. What really surprised me yesterday was seeing all-in preflops on PLO 20. With 3 people going all-in. I now realize I cannot play at a table like that - that is pure gambling.

It is definitely nice when you can get someone all in preflop with AA vs KK... 8.6BB is making money..

Re: Ok to Move up to .10/.20 cent PLO?

Been a week and have just been static. I went from a high of $1133 profit - tried PLO 20 - stopped after losing $150 and tilting - not play a mixture of PLO 10 and some PLO 20 and hovering around $1000 profit. Just cannot seem to break higher again on Global though I play the same.

Re: Ok to Move up to .10/.20 cent PLO?

Interesting - went on tilt at PLO 10 after bad beats to a maniac and kept losing to him. Went to PLO 20 table - tight players - and decided to play like a maniac raising pot almost every hand. In five minutes I went from $15 to $36. I honestly had good starting hands like A, K, K 10 but just kept hitting pot. By the turn or river all the players folded. Hell of a way to increase your chips and I know I probably got lucky for all of them to fold. That happened after I went all-in first hand and won out straight.

@pokersam12. I have seen a lot of people hit that streak of luck. Good luck and stay away from the runner, runner flushes.

I watched some tables last night just to get a different perspective. It is definitely easier to see what people are doing without being active in a hand. It might be worth it to do once in a while to be able to take good notes on players.

Good advice. I should probably stay and watch a bit.

Re: Ok to Move up to .10/.20 cent PLO?

FWIW I think you are a winning player and should take legitimate shots at .10-.20. The player pool at Global is so small that most players play multiple levels. Just table select when you can and play .10-20 vs players you want to play against at .05-.10. If it is slow the .25-.50 players move down to .10-.20 to play more tables. I play .05-.10 up to .25-.50 so know who the good regulars are who are playing smaller games.

You could also play two tables lower and one table higher. Nothing says all of your play has to be at the same level.
