the thing with 100bb strategy is that the swings are far greater. im not a fan of flipping for 400bb... and im not really a noob... ive started from 100bb now i want to learn short stacking. with short stacking ur nearly always ahead. when u stick ur stack in...and if u make a mistake its less costly as uyr in for 30bbs...

Yea, flipping for 400bb is high variance. But if that's your idea of deep play, you're doing it wrong. SSing is obv easy, and there's a ton of value in multitabling vs 100bb with 30bb. However, if u wanna become a good player instead of robotic exploitation of preflop spew, step out of your comfort zone. Best decision you'll ever make.

i mean the ineveitable flips... top set vs wrap and a flushdraw etc....and yeah im going to stop being a robot and try 100bb again. i currently play on pokerstars.fr where the players suck. so when deep stacked i cant float, bluff or make any moves...so would you just play tight preflop and play ip rather than oop.

and also im dunno if this is wrong but i never really 3bet AA unless im getting 30% of more in pre... i hate bloating the pot then not knowing where ur at when u flop pretty average
thanks

This should be the opposite, if you can get really deep with the fish you should try to cover them. If you don't want to because of the swing I'd suggest playing lower stakes where you are actually rolled.

Second part is wrong to

So you're playing a deep stack with a bunch of stations and you're worried about not being able to bluff them? Wait till you have the best hand - any best hand, not just nuts - and valuebet the hell out of them = profit.

As far as 3betting goes, 3bet wide in position to iso a fish, don't worry about getting enough money in pre. OOP u gotto 3bet hands that flop well and are likely to dominate villain's range. QJT9ds >>>>>> AA72r.

Well some were made a few years back and are simply out of date since the game has evolved so much. The only good content in plo on DC is Vanessa Selbst (more for beginners) and Magicninja, note that I could be wrong about this since I havent been a member for a long time.

Cardrunners has some way better quality of coaches / instructor overall.

Thoughts on Dereilleur/MonoPLOly series? The first seemed decent - I liked the 2 table vids because I tend to watch them while exercising, and usually with 4 tables I get lost on where they're at even when I'm close. Second one seemed good for defining board textures and some hand ranges, but it was a little dryer and I don't remember much from it.

I haven't watched them, I know DC is much cheaper than Bluefirepoker, but the vids are of much better quality on bfp, I think the ones on cardrunner are also of superior quality, but thats just my ''outdated experience''. I can name atleast 4-5 instructors that I think were really good on CR while I cannot for DC.

I havent watched the series of tom chambers (lernedfromtv) on CR, but I think he covers just about everything in it.

I'll have to check BFP out, at least for the trial bit. I like DC because there's no signup fee. I get why they do it, but I don't like it

Watched the first two videos of MagicNinjas Pregaming series on DC and so far they are awesome. He's one of the best I've watched at breaking down his thought process and everything he's saying is setting off light bulbs. Pretty amusing guy too, makes the vids really easy to watch. Bit above where I'm playing now but any micro or small stakes player should check them out. Thanks for the recommendation Lemay.

Since you bumped this. I found that LFTV's videos on pokersavvy were the best introduction to plo. At least a year and a half ago. I'd actually recommend gakn & verneers series on cardrunners now. i think the games have changed/evolved & that video accounts for the adjustments you need to make.

Hi guys!

Planning on grinding up a bankroll by playing PLO Sit&Gos/Mtts. I will play the 18mans turbos on stars (better sites to play maybe?). I have roughly two days where I can put in some hours/volume, besides working/studying. And a 200$ starting roll.

Im very new too PLO and would like to get links to videos/articles about the game. And should I register at any coachingsite? Deucescracked etc... How many tables should I play too start with? 1-2? Im also wondering how the skill level is, is it high or is it much softer than NL Holdem? Any other input is very much appreciated!

Regards

from whatever i have played the plo mtt's (up to ~$20), they are really soft, at least on pokerstars.
deucescracked and cardrunners both have good material, hard to say which one is better...
since you are norwegian you can play any site.
i recommend you look around different networks, how their software is, what kinda deals they have etc.

Yea, softness is a good reason to play PLO MTTs, but they're also really swingy due to equities running so close between starting hands.

Cash is def where the real money is, try it out while ur playing the MTTs/SNGs. 1 MTT table + 2-4 cash tables is pretty optimal IMO.

Any good discussion on the redline for plo anywhere?

Good stuff in this one, at least, u gotto read most of the convos to keep up though.

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/38...hread-1109761/

I guess I can just give you cliffs:

-at the end of the day, only the green line matters
-optimal redline/blue line ratio is determined by your opponents and stakes
-for micro stakes, it's very difficult - and most likely not optimal - to maintain a positive red line.
