My local casino offers £1/£2 4,5,6 card omaha (dealer's choice) as a cash game.

Can someone either tell me what adjustments you need to make for 5 or 6 card omaha or direct me to a thread/article that can

thank you

I couldn't man up and fold, im never good here, I believe that river calls are my down fall. I clearly missed the signs, i c/r flop and he calls, prob set and drawing, turn gave me a boat, and stopped thinking and his hand i thought about value city' bet 2/3 and got shoved on, the str8,boat,and flush came in , oh how i wished he had a backdoor flush, and i made a CRYING river call, then he just left(cut and ran) why didnt i just fold pre, i had know need to be in that hand either, which makes it worse.

*should I fold ever raised river w/o stone cold nutters, or is that a leak?

Play passive pre and draw to the nuts. Don't push without significant re-draws. Valuebet nuts big. Profit.

    Also check www.propokertools.com for math.

    ^ SlimyF has nailed it.

If you're lazy to google for articles, here you are: http://www.pokerplayer.co.uk/poker-s..._strategy.html

And certainly you can train online for less money on Entraction network (alas the only one that has 5-card PLO). SlimyF plays there (or at least used to) so I'm sure he can give valuable advice.

I suppose the importance of position grows with the number of cards dealt (as with the NLHE->PLO transition), so choose 6-card PLO when you're on the button.

I'm trying to learn PLO and kinda new to it just wondering bout these two hands, both are in zoom so dont really have any reads.

    Hand 1:

    PokerStars - $0.02 PL Hi (6 max) ZOOM - Omaha - 6 players
    Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

    BTN: $2.45
    SB: $0.74
    BB: $2.00
    UTG: $1.68
    MP: $2.38
    Hero (CO): $2.33

SB posts SB $0.01, BB posts BB $0.02

    Pre Flop: ($0.03) Hero has Q A 3 J

fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.07, fold, SB calls $0.06, BB calls $0.05

    Flop: ($0.21, 3 players) A 6 K
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $0.17, SB calls $0.17, fold

    Turn: ($0.55, 2 players) 5
    SB checks, Hero checks

    River: ($0.55, 2 players) Q
    SB bets $0.36, fold

    SB wins $0.53

I feel like JTxx could take this line and its close since the flush draw missed but not sure if its a fold or not. Should I be barreling the turn?

    Hand 2:

    PokerStars - $0.02 PL Hi (6 max) ZOOM - Omaha - 6 players
    Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

    BTN: $2.44
    Hero (SB): $2.45
    BB: $9.75
    UTG: $6.40
    MP: $5.04
    CO: $1.14

Hero posts SB $0.01, BB posts BB $0.02

    Pre Flop: ($0.03) Hero has 3 T 9 Q

UTG calls $0.02, fold, fold, fold, Hero calls $0.01, BB checks

    Flop: ($0.06, 3 players) T T 2
Hero bets $0.06, fold, UTG calls $0.06

    Turn: ($0.18, 2 players) 2
Hero bets $0.14, UTG calls $0.14

    River: ($0.46, 2 players) 8
Hero checks, UTG bets $0.44, Hero calls $0.44

UTG shows 4 5 8 T (Full House, Tens full of Eights) (Pre 48%, Flop 45%, Turn 35%)
    Hero mucks 3 T 9 Q (Three of a Kind, Tens) (Pre 52%, Flop 55%, Turn 65%)
    UTG wins $1.29

Standard call given the way the board runs out or should I be finding a fold here?

I really have no idea how plo2 Zoom plays, but..

1.SB is so short that I would just pot turn.
    2.Fold pre. As played wp.

I'm looking for spots to incorporate betting flop -> c/r turn lines, but maybe this wasn't the time to do it?
Villain is 47/28 over a small sample with an AF of 2. I have not seen him raise flops light and what stands out is his WTSD of 54% which probably indicates passiveness.

I thought most of his raising range would be trips with low kickers and 3betting the flop would make him fold. And pick off some occasional bluffs if he has any, so c/r turn would net me more money. Is this good logic or should I just be shipping flop or taking a different line?

    Hero ($25)
    BB ($65.82)
    CO ($25.35)
    BTN ($25.40)

    Dealt to Hero 9 5 A 6

fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.75, BB calls $0.50

    FLOP ($1.50) 5 2 5

Hero bets $1.14, BB raises to $2.50, Hero calls $1.36

    TURN ($6.50) 5 2 5 J

Hero checks, BB bets $2.50, Hero raises to $10, BB calls $7.50

    RIVER ($26.50) 5 2 5 J K

Hero bets $11.75 (AI), BB calls $11.75

how soft are the small stake PLO games compare to NLHE? Say 100 and myb 200, is it the same 6max games with 1 fish at the table just better edges vs the guy or are there actually a lot of games with 3fish in a 6max game?

    Hi,
i wanted to ask, is there anybody grinding PLO and NLH at the same time?
Do you think it's doable or I shouldn't even try?
    Thanks

It's different for different people. I think that you would want to have a good understanding of both games before grinding them at the same time. Don't try learning one game while grinding the other.

Of course there are such people but I don't find it good. The games are too different. The only time I can allow myself to mix is when I'm auto-registered in a decent 2-card poker f***roll , but then I usually butcher it because I instinctively use PLO standards of strength of villains' hands that are more paranoid, e.g. suspect flushes on any 3-flush boards etc., or 3bet light preflop too seldom.

If you need more tables of PLO than your favourite network can offer, play on two or more networks simultaneously.

Is there some place where I could check how often do I flop two pair or better and stuff like that in PLO?

PPT's PQL language http://propokertools.com/pql (in Odds Oracle, more random trials are available) is capable of that. E.g.:

    select count(
    flopHandCategory(Hero)>=flopbottomtwo)
    from game='omahahi', Hero='*'

Note that flopHandCategory() shows not your best hand type, but the exact interaction of your hole cards with the flop like overpair/trips/set - that's cool.

some quick questions from a nlhe player trying to learn plo:

can anyone link me to some good threads or articles on 3betting in plo? given 3bets seem to have 0% FE i don't know if i should just 3bet monster hands for value or 3bet some speculative semi bluff stuff with the expectation of fold equity postflop or wat

what are typical reg stats (vpip/pfr/3b)? i know its varies but in nlhe 19/16/5 to 28/24/10 is where most regs fall, what about in plo?

    hi everyone,
    another NL player testing PLO.

i have difficulties w my redline, cause i cant find spots to be aggressive in. i often end up check/folding w decent starting hands, when i whiff.
also i have tried to bluff w blockers, but they still have it a lot.

can you recommend me some vids, books, threads adressing this topic?
    thanks in advance.

if they have it alot then you probably play microstakes and should stop bluffing, I find myself too often bluffing the blockers and these ****** always call

redline is not so important at the lowstakes imo and you should just get it in good(maybe I´m just to bad to have a positive redline tough but you can make enough without having one )

Want some quick advice on bet sizing. ATM I bet 66% on paired boards or 3 card of the same suit flops. 75% pot on other flops. Of course this is only when I decide to bet. This includes donk bets, c bets and positional bets. If I decide to follow thru on the turn it's 75% again unless the board is really wet, then I occassionaly bet pot. Is this a leak? Should I bet pot more often?
