Was that an ok fold? Wasn´t really sure what to do. Expected SB to have some junk draw or a pair so was planing to shove if MP folds. MP shoves so I started worrying that at least one of them has got to have set of 9 or Q and after long thinking I fold. would have it been wiser to expect them to to have same straightdraws on most cases? so less likely that any of them completes? or was it an ok fold? apparently I was 49% ahead on the flop which I folded.

Kliid that was definitely not ok fold.If you call in a 3bet or 4bet pot with

5677 are you going to call only when you have top set or hit 234 flop?

If your plan is to go all in only on 237 which is only flop where you have top

set and there s no straight possible you re not going to make big profit.

Been dabbling in PLO, potential transition... idk. I've built up a bankroll big enough to play 200 PLO w/ 50+ buyins, but given my complete lack of experience, I know I'd be a losing player. I thought about starting at 25 PLO, but I'm concerned rake makes it unbeatable for meaningful winrates. I'd be playing on Ignition/Bovada and possibly some other US facing sites.

What stake would you guys suggest starting at with a decent bankroll? I'm willing to lose for a bit as I get my bearings and study up. I consider 25PLO the bottom of the barrel, stakes beneath that seem tough for me to take serious plus the rake is just abysmal on the sites I'm playing on. Any advice is appreciated - Thanks!

edit: A big reason I want to play online PLO is just to get better at Live PLO and get a significant amount of hands in too see what works and what doesn't in a database.

Live it`s usually 9max game and online almost exclusively 6max.

      There` s a big difference between these 2 games.

Anyway at plo25 you will start to find some good player and that would be recommendation.
edit: I would highly recommend minimum 100bi bankroll.

plo25 will be ok. I dont play on those sites but you will probably see some solid players and even some good ones that play plo25 for various reasons even though they have skill to play higher, and you will learn at that stake for sure

plo50 on most sites would be to tough if you are completely new to PLO

NLHE cash player for a year. Took me a year to beat 2nl then beating 5nl decently over the past month. If I wanted to transition to PLO cash where should I start for resources? On stars with $400 roll.

For those looking at getting into the great game of PLO I suggest a lot of study off the table before you jump in. The game plays so different to holdem. Even those people on a mild upswing think they’ve mastered it. It’s taken me years to get to a stage where I’d describe myself as competent. So many good people on these forums have thought me a lot. The good news is There are still so many Bad PLO players out there it’s insane!

Interesting. I was actually going to play 10k hands at PLO2 before I even opened a study book. Coming from NL5 (was moving to NL10 soon, have 40BI for NL10) I wanted to see how I could do with no study, and get some basics of PLO down like understanding how many outs each straight has etc etc. So I'm not jumping into material without some experience and when he talks about folding x flop with y draw I can be like yeah I remember that mistake.

I'm gunna get Jnandez stuff I think.

      Hi Guys,

I dunno if this is a stupid question but what stakes would you recommend starting at on stars with virtually no rakeback.

      is 10PLO even beatable? 25 or 50PL?

      Any input?

Any stake is beatable. No idea why people ask that for micro stakes.

Why not play on microgaming or some other site with better rakeback?

I have played quite some poker years ago, which started with live home poker and later online poker. I usally played 6 max, where I started at 5 NL and went up to 50 NL. I was beating the game at all stakes, allthough my winrate was quite lower at 50 NL, compared to 25 NL. When I finished my studies and got a 'normal' job, I lost poker out of sight. However I am thinking to go back to online poker as a hobby next to my daily job. Offcourse not to lose money, but to make my pokergame better and earn some extra euro's.

In the past I also have played some PLO, but never that much. As I will start back up again, I would like to start with PLO instead of NL Holdem.

I have read the book 'Pot Limit Omaha Poker' - The big play strategy - Jeff Hwang. Do you have any more recommedations? Maybe specific for short handed tables?

      Thank you in advance.

      Other *3*.

Also, Slowhabits book from circa 2011 is still relevant "Transitioning from NLHE to PLO" or something like that.

I also, as a LSPLO player myself, enjoy a lot of RIO content.

What stakes are you playing at the moment?
      What is RIO content?

How do we size our bets in general regarding our strategy?

Like what I know till now we bet smaller if we have a high betting frequency. Like if we have a high cbet frequency on certain board.

but I have also heard instructors saying in vids that on certain boards they have range advantage they bet big to push equity or as in NL overbetting as opponents range is capped.

Whats the basic theory? or where can I learn from ?
