Flop: (14 BB, 3 players) 9 6 8
BB checks, CO bets 13.1 BB, Hero ?

Hi guys, could you help me to understand the best way to play this flop ?

My opinion is to raise to avoid BB player to realise his equity cheaply, but a solid player told me it is better to flat the flop, possibly avoiding staking off to hands like set + FD from BB player.

I would have thought it was better to flat only if BB player is the donkbetter.

Who is wrong ?

I would call flop, and pot blank turn with 77 in your hand. Makes it more likely he is on a draw.

With the pot already 27BB and given that it is shorthanded and NL10 I would probably pot it to prevent BB from drawing cheap. We can raise to 54 BB so almost comitting our money and the better is short so we dont really care about him. He can bet with so many hand that have equity trying to push us out.

Yes BB can have the nuts + redraw but it is unlikely think in this case still go for it.

You have enough equity vs range to raise. You'd be more keen on flatting with a heart or a pair blocker or if your hand is weaker.

CO started the hand with 22BB so he is basically shoving. The question is do we want to call and allow bb to call or raise or just jam and try to shut out bb. Having nuts with redraw and nut blockers I’m fine jamming it in and playing for stacks

I think being the preflop raiser here disguises your hand a bit and argues for you to just put in a pot raise.

Raising on the flop could look like you're just continuing your preflop aggression, maybe trying to isolate against the short stack CO. The BB could have a tough time putting you on T7xx, and I could see them stacking off with the lower straight/set/two pair/pair + flush draw.

face the field with two cold, if they want to gamble they can do it with their stack

OK thanks guys for the answers.
Indeed, with the nut blockers + the fact that my hand is disguised, i understand that raising is better.
