So. The hand begins in a local casino where everyone is kinda bad and we are playing 5Card PLO. 8-handed. Blinds are 2/2 and there is a straddle (4). We are 100bb effective.

Everyone calls the straddle and we are completing in the BB with 99532
We call aswell. So 8-handed to the flop

Flop comes 987

Everyone looks interested. Small blind (older gentleman, loves to gamble) bets pot and i decided to fold my top set after tanking a while. Hand ended up going 3-way all in on the flop and the older gentleman had nut straight and J-high flush draw.

Tell your opinion. I think it is still a fold 8-handed only 2bb committed.

I think the fact you're considering if that is a fold or not proves that you have alot to learn my friend

These guys in my live table dont really care if they are behind or not and how many people are in the pot. He is propably potting there with 2pair + and K high flush draw+.

But thanks for the answer! I mainly play NLH so these spots are kinda frustrating when playing 5C PLO.

edit:What i mean by "they dont care if they are behind or not" is that when they have 2p+ they want to stack off against anything. The game is totally nuts.

How much you personally have committed is kind of irrelevant, but with only seven outs getting 2:1 the flop looks like a fold. You actually don't mind if someone raises behind you because this is a hand that is okay with stacking off three-way, the real threat is that everyone else folds.

That being said we're not thrilled to get it in three way either, because we should be break even most of the time and of course if someone has like JT88 then it is a really bad situation. But even if no one else has a set or two pair then we're probably not much of a favourite, or wouldn't be in four card, not sure how five card affects the equities since there will be substantial EOR effects IF all our pairs are live.

Should be easy fold.

Only way to call is if you think that pot will end up multiway. In multiway pots your top set is good candidate. Heads up it is not.

Being up against multiple TJxxx hands is more likely than being up against TJxxx and 88/77 (because 88xxx 77xxx hands suck and TJxxx doesn't), and not blocking any board pairings=Not gonna ****ing fold. It's live and 100bb deep, ****ing get in there. Not as in "get it in now" but as in "don't throw your ****ing cards away m8"

Or just gii now, it's shallow enough either way
