Live 1/2: AKQ9cc on KQJc flop Live 1/2: AKQ9cc on KQJc flop

Live 1/2 with bring-in of 5, 700 effective

Hero with AKQ9cc (suited to the ace) in SB
3 limps, Hero raises to 30, BB and all limpers call

Flop (150): KQJr, one club
Hero bets 115, BB raises pot to 495 with 200 behind
Hero?

BB is old middle Eastern guy, pretty tight pre. Is this anything other than ATxx here? I block KK/QQ, not sure he’s doing this with something like JJTx or even T9xx.

Should I be check/calling this flop, even I have too much equity to be bet/folding?

Your range SMASHHHHHHES the flop so no one should be trying to **** around with you ever but just play really straight forward. For that reason it's definitely a fold as played, and the reasoning may even make the flop a c/fold even if that may sound ridiculous. I'm torn between c/c and c/f, and I guess it would depend on bet sizes or something. But honestly probably c/f. It's 5 ways in a spot where no one should **** around at all.

So you like checking this flop vs betting? Feels bad to fold nut straight and nut BDFD equity when I get check raised here.

gruch

Pleeease don't bet the flop. This is a great hand to check/call and evaluate later streets. Betting only makes sure we get charged the most when AT is out there or have to fold a lot of equity.

Some players are so tight that in BB's spot, not only do they have ATxx, but they only raise there with ATxx with a redraw, which means that some of your outs might be blocked or you are drawing to a chop.

Check/fold is usually the proper play on the flop here, unless the right person bets. Top two is a hand that is commonly over-valued by hold em players trying to transition to PLO.

I think betting is fine most of the time since you block KK QQ and both T9 and AT and have backdoor NFD but this is a 4 way pot so a check is probably best

In general we need way stronger hands to bet into 3 players and this board is extremely heavy

If you do bet you should bet small with your whole range

Not a fan of the flop bet. As played, it sucks but I think we have to fold. We have some equity, but not 1/3rd of the pot. This is a scary board to raise someone from your position w/out the nuts since you have nothing in your range besides the nuts and hands w/ a bunch of equity against the nuts.
