Hello. So, I ~accidentally multi accounted on stars. If you have played against both mr_suspekt and SpenstiWensties I would like to apologise and give you a little bit of money. Don't want to waste anyone's time so I'm just gonna ask you to write your nick in this thread and if I remember your name I will give you a % of 10% of my winnings from my SpenstiWensties-account.

Now into the tldr part: I'm a Swede and our goverment has made some new gambling laws for 2019. Because of this PokerStars had to custom make a poker client which we could download from pokerstars.se. I don't really follow poker related stuff more than neccesary so I got these news from a friend who told me there were some hassles in getting on with the gambling.

So I download the new software and things seem to go pretty smooth. But when I first tried to log into my account from the new client a warning pop up window told me "the username you have entered is already registered on pokerstars.eu". This is where I f up...

I used to play at winamax and unibet where you can change your username once in a while so I took for granted that I had to create a new nick. If I had only logged into my old account one time I wouldn't have made the mistake of creating the SpenstiWensties account because then a pop up window would have told me to press a button to migrate my account from the
.eu to the .se software.

So my first instinct is to use mr_suspekt2 as my new username but then I started to think in a clearly unethical manner. At the time I didn' t see it like that tho. My thought process was as follows:

mr_suspekt2 looks like a broken nick, it's imperfect and doesn't feel motivating at all. I don't have to make it obvious that I am mr_suspekt because pokerstars has not told me or in any way hinted that I should pick a similar username to the old one, I feel like I am always too f honest and nice and also, it can't be the slightest bit unethical since I don't have any reads on any other player since I'm on youtube or netflix as soon as I don't have a difficult decision to make. SpenstiWensties is what I call my daughter, it feels motivating and looks kind of fun. That name with a screenshot from The Secret of Monkey Island... wow, genious!

That was how I remember my thought process. However, I deeply regret not going with mr_suspekt2 now though.

PokerStars has reviewed my case and decided that I had no malicious intent and decided to let me keep my winnings. It was pretty obvious that I didn't intend to cheat. I did, of course, use my real name, address and out of the four different bank accounts I have in two different banks I used the same as for the mr_suspekt account. I tried to use the same email but was told it was already registered, so I used another email that begun with "mr_suspekt". I also, not that it matters, used the same password.

In my mind I feel ok with what I have done so far but to not make this thread and to not tell opponents at the tables feels pretty dirty. I'm gonna collect nicks that I suspect have fallen victims of my multi accounting and give them a % based on how much I think we have played together. I have been in contact with stars to see if they could perhaps match my donation or maybe help me find which players have been affected and to what extent but they couldn't - which I can understand.

My biggest regret and sorrow is that I feel that some people out there might really have lost some substansial amounts of money because of this. I mean, I might send someone a $80 donation who would perhaps, through reads from my mr_suspekt account, never have paid of a few $500 river bets in a certain spots and who wouldn't have bluffed off loads in certain spots or missed out on bluffs... whatever. I understand if there are regs out there who feel that way and to you I would really like to say I'm very sorry. However, this is the best I can do and I hope you can understand that. I want my donation to be a sign that I didn't do what I did because of greed, that I didn't hope to get an edge over regs.

I must confess that I am quite happy to be able to do this, I mean, had PokerStars decided to keep my funds and ban me I simply couldn't. Also, to come out and say this while my case was being investigated by Stars it would not have had, at all, the same sincerity, I feel.

So now I am changing my avatar into the same I used for SpenstiWensties and in about a month I will start making player transfers to the plo 5 card regs. I will post a list with the usernames and the % each will recieve. I am 100% certain that it will not be 100% fair but again - I feel like this is the best I can do.

Are you completely positive that at no time have you been sitting with both accounts at the same table?

You had to make a new account, you don't owe anyone anything. Also, you're overestimating how much money someone could possibly "lose" because they didn't know it was you, it's not high stakes where players have 100k+ hands on each other.

antchev, I am 100% certain. First time I logged into the mr_suspekt account in 2019 was after I had played the last hand from the Spensti account. I recognize your nick and will send you some money in about a month. I will post a preliminary payout plan and if you guys seem ok with it, I will make the player transfers. Once again I am truly sorry about what happened. ( You have the same username at Stars, right? Otherwise I just recognize it from here, either way I trust you and will pay up).

heat555, I didn't have to make a new account, I was supposed to migrate my account to the new client. I think Stars has handled this situation well, except for being pretty slow, BUT I just wished they would have created a more helpful error pop up window that said more than just "this username is already registered at PokerStars.eu" then I wouldn't be in this situation. I do recognize that it would be a lot to ask for - to have the new client run 100% perfect in a fairly short notice from the Swedish goverment so I don't feel any bad feelings towards Stars.

I do agree that 10% is WAY too generous considering I'm not even sure if I have played against an antchev on Stars at all and he says he has played with me quite a lot I don't really take notes on regs and I pretty much just look at my hand and the situation I'm in - then click the most attractive button The reason I'm donating 10% is for me to feel like I have nothing to look back on and feel bad about. I want my conscience sparkling clean!

I agree and I don't see any big harm done. If anyone is pissed about the situation, they should point their anger towards Stars, because they are responsible for the software mishap.

Kudos for coming clean though, poker needs more ethical and trustworthy people in these dark times.

So sick, so far only antchev has confirmed being multi accounted by me and so far he wants his share donated to a charity in my community, that's $1225 going to BRIS in Sweden (helping out kids in need) if no one else speaks up.

As much as I would like to donate to the kids - it is only right that you let me know if you are eligible to a %, I could choose to donate to the kids anyway.

When did this happen? The last time I played PLO5 on Stars was several years ago.

The SpenstiWensties account was created in 2019.

I was expecting a lot of people would try to freeroll for some cash and even though I feel disappointed that I have only found one person affected - I am impressed that only one person (after almost 600 views) has tried his luck for some undeserved free money and he didn't even want to lie to get it. wp so far 2p2!

Hi Tuomas! Good to hear you will take part in this. Congrats on the twins! We actually met in Macau a long time ago, don't know if you remember. I hung out with you and your othello(pretty sure it was othello)-champion of a friend. I remember we were snusing and slowrolling each other at the tables for a week or so. Good times!

I have played a lot with you from both my accounts (sorry about that) so you will recieve a bigger % than antchev. Will come up with some numbers and check if they seem alright with everyone!

Also, no one has to justify the donation by telling me what they are gonna spend the money on. Good to hear the twins will get something nice though

Dude you don't owe anyone anything. You're overestimating how much edge you had. Sometimes I sit 5 accounts at the SAME table, you'd be surprised how hard it still is to win ! Esp when people don't fold to blocker bets .. or the dreaded "all 5 of my accounts all in V his at once and quintouple him up" fear that lingers in the back of all of our minds. Amiright?!

So I am gonna create a new email adress and the players who are in for some cash will have to send me their bank details along with a password that they will write in the pokerstars chat to confirm that the details actually belong to them.
