I play it at MGM as well. Haven't played with you yet though - at least I don't think so. Don't ruin the fish pond LOL - but it will inevitably be ruined in years to come.

The hold'em players hate it because it drags the whales out of the their games and into a greater game of PLO haha. Also impossible to find 4 card PLO now.

I have played five-card high before. I felt like I was playing fewer hands than four-card because you are less likely to have a dangler-free hand in five-card.

There is a vlogging thread that was created because people objected to too many non-Vegas vlogs being talked about in the vlog thread in LVL, but it's been low traffic in the past year.

If you wait for dangler free hands, you'll lose tons of positional value against weaker opponents.

yea what is it about MD/DC only having 5 card plo now? that wasn't the case a couple of years ago. even Philly runs mostly 4 card

It was MDlive that started the 5 card PLO. They ran a 4 card game for a long time and than started big o which was 5 card hi/lo with a $5 time raked for a promotional game. It ran for a few weeks - than some whale in the game wanted to just do 5 card high. Every one agreed and they just transitioned over to 5 card high. It killed the 4 card game as all the action players don't want 4 card any more.

It used to also run at the horseshoe but horseshoe destroyed the game. Can't remember how.

Now it spread to MGM as well but Live still gets more low stakes 5 card PLO action imo but MGM does run a more consistent 5/5 PLO 5 card.

if you want 4 card you gotta travel to philly - I think horseshoe runs a 4card game on thursday but it dies pretty early.

I play plenty of 5 card PLO. It is really popular in Malta. I play in a couple of home games and the game features in both. Also in one of the casinos they often run dealer's choice cash games: the choice is limited basically to variants of PLO but 5 card PLO high is popular.

You play it because all the action players and whales play it. People wouldn't play it if every one was solid - it would be a super nitty game and every one would correctly fold pre unless they had super nutted hands like AKQJxds and AAQJJds or the blind structure changed

The reason it's so popular is because whales play garbage like 278TQ and blind bet because they think it's bingo while the solid players just fold pre and wait for a good hand since you literally only have to put in $3 an orbit to wait for a good hand and still get action.

Also since it's a high variance game people can go on sick runs playing garbage.

I've made over 20k playing the game in about 200 hours (recently just lost 2k the other day at it though running like aids) but that was bound to happen (I flopped the nuts 3 times and lost all 3). I get action every time I flop the nuts, and just have to fade some back door flush or runner runner straight generally. It takes a while before I can get in that situation but I don't think any of the fish pay attention, or they don't care because 80% of the time I get action.

Yea the variance is sick but def attracts best action. If that's the case though, why don't more casinos run 5 card? Is mgmnh action really just that good?

Casinos shouldn't want to run 5-card. They probably shouldn't be too enthusiastic about 4-card just because it may break too much of the player pool.
