Have to manually type because cannot convert hand from SkyPoker.

V in hand is pretty passive, lots of limp calling pre. Standard tight Smallstakes postflop raising range.

I have been aggro. Been widening up a lot pre and stealing post, rarely with a pot pot pot line however.

PLO50

Btn (£159) Raises to £1.50
Villain (£210) in SB flats
Hero (£148) calls As8h8d2s

Flop Jd2h8s (£4.50)

V check
H bets £3.38
Btn fold, V call.

Turn 2c (£11.26)

V check
H bets £8.45
V calls

River Jc (£28.16)

V check
H bets £21.12
V raises to £91.52
H?

don't think a passive player is showing up here without jacks full. river bet is good. pre seems questionable.

Yes I know about pre. It was the mistake that leads to these kinds of riverspots, but shorthanded where I'm worrying more about getting folds than making the best hand, 88 is a powerhouse blocker .

What about J2 here?

80/20 V has JJxx vs. J+wrap cards.

Actually I misread your hand and didn't see that you had a nut suit, pre is definitely a call.

Played hand fine. Bet pot on the river. Easy fold to the x/r.

I assume you mean in general 88 is a blocker to various nut straights over a wide range of boards, not that you're betting this particular river to get folds. Since you beat everything except five card combos, the river bet for value makes sense.

But it's probably too big a bet. Against a certain kind of player who will try to punish you for small bets, I'd make a comically tiny bet (like 1 or 2 GBP) to reopen and then call the PSR. Against more straightforward players, 1/4 pot should get you calls from a stiff jack or maybe occasionally an overpair, which are the only worse hands that can reasonably call you.

As played, without reads, yeah, fold.

There's nothing wrong with the river betsize... we should definitely be betting on the large side as opposed to the smaller side because Jxxx hands are going to find it difficult to fold and we're going to have a decent amount of wraps on this board that want to sometimes bluff the river. In fact we probably have so many bluff hands that we should probably be going with a pot sized value bet with our value hands.

I would be betting smaller sometimes with the nuts, sometimes with a J/decent kicker and sometimes as a bluff. But this particular hand wants to bet big because we don't block any Jxxx.
