I assume you mean in general 88 is a blocker to various nut straights over a wide range of boards, not that you're betting this particular river to get folds. Since you beat everything except five card combos, the river bet for value makes sense.
But it's probably too big a bet. Against a certain kind of player who will try to punish you for small bets, I'd make a comically tiny bet (like 1 or 2 GBP) to reopen and then call the PSR. Against more straightforward players, 1/4 pot should get you calls from a stiff jack or maybe occasionally an overpair, which are the only worse hands that can reasonably call you.
As played, without reads, yeah, fold.
