200bb effective stacks

Villain BTN open 100%, call 3-bet 100%, reasonably aggressive postflop

Hero is BB with AKJ7

Villain opens to 3bb, hero 3-bet to 9bb, villain calls

Flop(18bb) AT2
Hero has 2x BDFD, Top Pair & Gutshot
Hero bet 15bb, BTN raises to 55bb

What is our plan here?
Are there any other options than calling this raise?
What is our plan if we call the flop and get potted on the turn, with turn being either
a) 6
b) 6
c) K or J

You're gonna bet that flop 100% of the time, and you want to bet smaller. Between 1/3rd and half pot I'd guess

I don't have any really useful input other than that

Seems weak but this is a gross spot. I call flop raise and check/fold turns where we don't improve. Eventually you will get this guy.

I like a smaller bet on the flop. Now it's tough to make a decision on flop once villain has bet. You wanna avoid tough spots especially when 170 BB+ deep. You could just decide to just fold rather than put in another 40 BB and potentially more on future streets. Wait for a better spot IMO, cut your losses and get out on flop.

Yeah if the turn is any of these it's still tough if you get potted. You really wanna be the one doing the pot raises and getting him to fold not the other way around. Your also out of position in this hand and don't have the option of getting a free card if you happen to hit a spade.

Agree with loctus on sizing, but would be ok mixing in some checks.

As played I think you do best to shove or fold - puts villain in a tough spot with 2p and semi-bluffs, even bottom set.

Not an easy spot, fold i think since our kj blocks many of the semi-bluffs we want him to have. Hand we are most afraid of folding to is 345x.

I don't hate folding, but I do hate 3-betting. What value hands is he raise-folding? He's not folding any sets, damn, he's not even folding A2 if he's raising with it.

As described against this villain I'm calling, possibly open-jamming the 3, 4 or 5 of spades or diamonds, but otherwise checking everything else, I think, and then deciding.

If the 6 comes down, we check and he pots, I'm probably folding. If the 6 hits, we check, he pots, and we go with it.

We don't need to plan for each individual turn before we make our mind up about the flop call, we just need to work out that we hit enough turns to continue to the river, and roughly what they look like.

Flop bet size is too big, we should be looking to the 40% mark imo.

This is a terrible mindset for any form of poker other than someone open-jamming 100bbs in nlhe. Not only can you do a lot better against someone being overly aggressive, I'd rather be in the shoes of the apparently mindless aggressor than someone looking to wait for a premium spot. I'm sure many, many times in my poker history, I've gone through a little spate of 3-betting and barrelling a ton, including what appear to be kamikaze bluffs, and people adjust by letting me take down even more pots, rather than fighting for them, and when they do fight for them, I just let them take it because I know they're unlikely to do it without a hand, because they think I'm a maniac gambler.

You played it ok. I would call and assess the turn situation.

These are tough spots. You could be very behind.
